Temple Within Journeys has announced the launch of The Temple Within: Bhutan A Timeless Pilgrimage, a ten-day contemplative journey through the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan (March 13-22, 2027). Limited to 7-10 participants, the pilgrimage combines mindful walking, Buddhist philosophy and sacred landscapes in an intimate small-group experience.

Founder David Starlyte has spent more than twenty-five years exploring the intersection of psychology, contemplative practice and wellbeing across ten countries. Following a life-changing accident in Vietnam in 2019, his understanding of healing shifted from fixing the self to creating the conditions in which transformation naturally unfolds a philosophy that now underpins every Temple Within Journey.

The journey is designed for anyone standing at a threshold the end of a relationship, a career transition, or simply the pull toward something deeper than conventional travel can offer. It's a chance to ask the questions usually left for later: Who am I? What do I actually want? What's the meaning of my life?

The crisis of our time is not burnout, distraction or overwhelm, but the quiet erosion of meaning. We have become extraordinarily connected to technology, yet increasingly disconnected from ourselves. Temple Within Journeys offers an alternative to constant connectivity: slowing down long enough to rediscover presence, clarity and purpose.

"We're looking for people who sense that something in their life is ready to shift. Pilgrimage isn't about becoming someone else. It's about creating enough spaciousness to gently pause, and finally feel what has been there a long time, knocking on the door of your consciousness."

The pilgrimage moves through monasteries and mountain landscapes via mindful walking, Buddhist philosophy and sacred architecture, with meditation, reflective dialogue and long stretches of silence built in for nervous-system regulation as much as personal insight. Bhutan one of the world's last Buddhist kingdoms, where contemplation remains woven into the culture itself offers a rare setting for that kind of slowing down.

"This isn't sightseeing. Mornings begin in silence. We walk to monasteries most tourists never reach, and we leave real space for people to feel what they haven't had time to feel before. When we change the landscape around us, we are invited to discover a new way of encountering ourselves."

Temple Within Journeys is developing a series of contemplative pilgrimages across Asia, with future journeys planned for Cambodia, Thailand and Japan in collaboration with TourHero.
