Balancing multiple disciplines with grace and intention, I am more than a multi-hyphenate; I am a trailblazer redefining what it means to be a modern artist and advocate.

What inspired you to start Aisling Goodwin Accents?

What inspired me to start my accent coaching business was a combination of my passion for communication and my own experiences with performing in an accent. I saw how powerful it can be when someone feels confident expressing themselves clearly without the accent taking away from or impacting their performance. I wanted to help others find that confidence, break through the performance barriers, and feel fully confident without having to change how they perform.

How did your background in acting influence your approach to accent coaching?

My background in acting has had a huge influence on my approach to accent coaching.

Acting taught me how to truly listen, embody different voices, and understand the nuances of speech and expression. It’s not just about how words sound, it's about rhythm, intention, and emotion. I bring that same depth into my coaching, helping clients connect with the sounds on a physical and emotional level, not just a technical one, building up the muscle memory so that it becomes second nature.

What do you find most rewarding about helping clients with their accents?

What I find most rewarding is seeing the shift in confidence that happens when

someone feels truly heard and understood. It’s not just about perfecting an accent, it’s about helping clients express themselves more freely and authentically. Watching them own their voice and feel empowered in conversations, interviews, or performances is incredibly fulfilling.

Can you share a success story from someone you've coached?

One of my favourite success stories is from a client who was a highly skilled professional but felt held back in interviews because of their accent. We worked together not just on pronunciation, but also on rhythm, intonation, and overall clarity. After a few months, they landed a job they’d been aiming for (on a very big show) and told me they finally felt like their voice matched their abilities. Seeing someone step into their full potential like that is exactly why I do this work.

How do you tailor your coaching to suit different learning styles or goals?

I always start by getting to know each client’s goals, background, and how they learn best. Some people are very analytical and want to understand the mechanics of sound; others are more intuitive and benefit from mimicry and repetition. I adapt my approach to match their style, whether it’s using visuals, movement, listening exercises, or real-life conversation practice. My goal is to make the process feel natural, effective, and aligned with what they’re trying to achieve.

What advice would you give someone nervous about working on their accent?

I’d say first, be kind to yourself. Having an accent is not a flaw. Finding taking on a new accent difficult is not an impossibility; it's part of your story. Working on clarity or confidence doesn't mean erasing your identity, it’s about gaining tools to express yourself more freely and equipping you with the tools to learn new accents. It’s okay to feel nervous, but remember, this is a safe, supportive process. You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to be open to learning and growing.

Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

Some of my greatest career achievements have been building a career that reflects all the parts of who I am, creatively, professionally, and personally. As an actress, landing roles that challenged me emotionally and artistically has been incredibly fulfilling. As an accent coach, helping clients find their voice and watching them thrive has been deeply rewarding. Producing projects that amplify underrepresented voices and advocating for mental health in the industry have allowed me to make a meaningful impact beyond performance. It’s the blend of these roles, where art meets purpose, that I’m most proud of.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

If I could change one thing about the industry, it would be the pressure to fit into narrow definitions of identity, beauty, or communication. I’d love to see more space for authentic voices, diverse stories, and people being celebrated for who they truly are, not just how closely they match a certain mould. The more inclusive and open we make this industry, the richer and more powerful the work becomes.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

A pivotal moment for me was realising that I didn’t have to choose just one path to follow. For a long time, I felt torn between acting, coaching, advocacy, and producing. But the moment I embraced the idea that all of these passions could coexist and even strengthen each other, everything shifted. That mindset allowed me to build a career that feels authentic, aligned, and purposeful and that’s what brought me to where I am today.
