Phoebe Toft is the founder of The Rebirth of the Soul, a creative and healing initiative dedicated to supporting individuals recovering from trauma, narcissistic abuse, and violence. Through poetry, storytelling, and authentic self-expression, Phoebe helps others rediscover their inner strength and navigate the complexities of healing. With a voice rooted in both truth and tenderness, she creates safe spaces for reflection, growth, and transformation.
Her journey has been one of profound resilience — rising from personal pain to become a guide for others. Phoebe’s mission is clear: to break taboos, foster understanding, and illuminate the path from darkness to light through creativity, compassion, and courageous storytelling.

How would you describe what you do and why it is important to you?
I run the business Phoebe Toft – The Rebirth Of The Soul, where I help others find strength and healing through words. I use creativity and poetry to support people on their healing journey after difficult experiences such as trauma, narcissistic abuse, and violence — but also to help them learn from these experiences. My mission is to create a space where words become a source of strength, insight, and healing.
I write personal poems that come straight from the heart, reflecting both my own experiences and the wisdom I have gained along the way. My creative approach is through words — blending genuine feelings with messages of personal growth, rebuilding, and self-love. Although some may see poetry as a bit old-fashioned, I see it as a powerful way to express complex emotions — especially the difficult ones that are often taboo or hard to put into words.
My goal is to bridge the gap between facts and feelings because I believe that’s the best way to foster understanding and learning. Many topics I work with — such as narcissism, abuse, and manipulation — are still surrounded by stigma. Therefore, it’s important for me to communicate both the factual mechanisms and the emotional aspects so that more people can understand and feel seen.
I also use social media, especially Instagram, where I combine images, text, and music to convey my messages in a way that touches both the heart and the mind. It’s my way of creating connection, understanding, and inspiration — something I personally missed during difficult times. I missed the person who is grounded in reality when it comes to these topics.
Creating a safe space where people can gain insight, feel seen, and understood is very important to me. Through my poems and creative posts, I hope to contribute to greater awareness, healing, and rebuilding — especially for those who have faced similar challenges.
What motivated you to start sharing your healing journey publicly?
It felt completely natural for me to use my own experiences and knowledge to help others through my business. It has been a long process that developed over time, and it took a lot of courage to open up.
I personally benefited greatly from following others who shared their stories — especially during difficult periods. It became clear to me how important authentic voices are because many people feel alone in their struggles, and understanding can be hard to find.
There was an inner drive that gave me the courage to open up. It was my way of fighting for myself — especially because I often felt misunderstood and labeled as a victim. But I am more than my
challenges, and I wanted to show that there is strength in sharing your story.
"Part of my healing process has been about finding meaning in what I’ve been through," she says, "and I believe my story can offer hope and inspiration to others in similar situations."
Furthermore, I’ve realized how important it is to increase understanding about topics like narcissism and abuse. For example, I experienced bullying and hateful comments — especially in Snapchat groups where people spoke negatively about me without understanding my situation. This shows how a lack of knowledge can lead to misunderstandings, prejudice, and secondary shame. That’s why I am passionate about educating, raising awareness, and breaking taboos.
How has writing helped you process trauma?
Writing has always been my way of understanding myself — my feelings, experiences, and journey. It started as a private method to process difficult emotions, and it has been absolutely essential during times of great stress.
I prefer to write by hand because the physical act feels more genuine and honest — my feelings come more directly through my hand, and it’s like a bodily expression where words are born from the heart.
An example is my poetry collection Caught in Partner Violence, which emerged impulsively, almost as a calling. During my psychology studies, focusing on evil and power abuse, I gained a deeper understanding and a stronger connection to my own experiences. Writing helped me gain clarity, release emotions, and generate knowledge that can help others who feel lonely with their experiences.

What does self-love mean to you today?
Self-love is one of the greatest gifts I’ve given myself. It came when I actively started working on myself and got to know my true self on a deeper level. I firmly believe that the path to healing and acceptance runs through self-love.
The more I understand myself, the easier it is to love myself. I have a big heart and wish the best for others, but I’ve also learned the importance of setting healthy boundaries. It’s necessary to protect my well-being and to make room for genuine, mutual love.
"When you love and know yourself," Phoebe reflects, "it becomes harder for others to manipulate or control you. It gives strength, authenticity, and space for more genuine relationships where you can be truly yourself."
What advice would you often give to someone leaving a narcissistic relationship?
My advice is to give yourself time and space for healing. It’s important not to rush into new relationships, as this can often lead to repeating old patterns. The fear of being alone can be strong, but my own greater fear was staying in what was harmful.
Reach out to others in similar situations — share experiences, listen to others’ stories, and understand that you are not alone. I thought I was, but I realized many struggle with the same. My time at a crisis center was extremely challenging, but it also provided valuable support. There, I connected with others facing similar situations and realized that healing is a process that requires time.
The most important thing is to protect yourself, show compassion for yourself, and go at your own pace. Once you understand that you’ve been subjected to narcissistic manipulation, you can gain a deeper insight into yourself and your strength.
Narcissists embody a form of evil, but they are also very intelligent — this knowledge can help you create a better life.
Victims of narcissistic abuse are not weak — quite the opposite. They are incredibly strong because they have risen from a difficult experience, and they can build a new inner strength that makes them more resilient than ever.
What does a typical day look like in your work as a coach and creative writer?
I spend a lot of time writing — it feels completely natural to me. Through my work, I help others understand their feelings and reality, which gives me deep joy and purpose.
A typical day often begins with an hour of Pilates after dropping the children off at school. It helps me gather strength, reduce stress, and create balance. Then I write and prepare content for the upcoming week, providing structure and calm. I also participate in online meetings, respond to inquiries, and work on rebuilding both my life and my business. Currently, I am translating my book into English — a process filled with challenges but also opportunities for growth.
What inspires you most right now?
Right now, I am most inspired by spirituality. I believe that when we integrate our personal experiences with the spiritual realm, we can attain deeper wisdom and understanding. Hearing others’ stories about spirituality motivates me because there is always something I recognize and something I can learn. It opens up greater insight into myself and my world.
What do you hope people feel when they read your words?
I hope my words create greater insight, understanding, and empathy. There is a significant need to raise awareness around topics like narcissism, abuse, and the dark forces in our world. I want to help break the silence, increase knowledge, and foster understanding so that victims no longer feel shame but instead find strength in their stories.
My poems and stories are also an attempt to evoke compassion because I have experienced much after leaving a violent relationship. It feels like the beginning of a new chapter — a fight for greater awareness and acceptance. Not to share my pain, but to help others understand what it truly means to be trapped in darkness and evil — and how to avoid letting one’s soul be consumed by it.
I hope my words can inspire people to feel their pain because it can become a powerful driving force if used correctly. It’s about understanding that pain is part of the healing process and that it can lead to greater insight, strength, and personal growth.
