Dear reader,

You are what you are listening to.

This past Saturday I had the honor to be a guest speaker at a summit called "Burn your ship and take charge".

I learned from many experts.

I learned by listening.

And that's how it started.

I listened to summits 7 years ago and it brought me into a whole new world of learning.

From summits, where experts are gathered and present their expertise on a certain topic, to podcasts, to youtube channels to audiobooks. Can you tell I am an auditory learner?

It also provided for me a full-circle moment.

From being the listener to being the speaker.

So let me ask you:

What are you listening to?

Faith comes by hearing.

And messages you hear over and over become a belief.

Some of you know the old Sunday school song "Oh be careful little ears what you hear.”

Even if you are not familiar with this little tune, think about it.

When you listen to the news for hours at a time (as some TV channels allow you to do) how do you feel?

When you listen to encouraging, uplifting messages for hours at a time, how do you feel? When you listen to an audiobook, how do you feel?

When you leave a conversation with a friend/family member, how do you feel?

I want you to be aware of what you are listening to.

It does influence how you think, what you believe, and therefore how you feel.

I choose to listen to a news app or a 100 second German news summary for my news.

I choose to listen to audiobooks that are relevant and interesting and beneficial to me.

I choose to follow positive influencers and people on my social media.

I choose to be in uplifting social networking groups.

Why? Because I need it to balance out the negative voices and news in my life.

I don't need to do anything to have these. They are just there and show up, uninvited, mind you!!

So today and this week, be aware of what you listen to.

Be intentional about it. Imagine the possibilities that will open up for you.
