Do you know the 16 leadership, learning, and resilience skills? The development of each of them and the use for professional purposes depend not only on a direct skill, but on a harmonious set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

Leadership Skills

Communication

The ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and genuinely plays an important role in personal and professional development. It can be exercised through relationships, expression about relevant causes, collaboration, digital media, and connection opportunities in general.

Ability to analyze

Analyzing means observing, investigating, discerning. It is a competence that differentiates people and professionals, very important for leadership contexts, but also in general contexts. In a world with an abundance of information, discernment, selectivity and focus also become great differentials, and the ability to analyze gains even greater importance.

Innovation

Innovating professionally involves exploring new opportunities, exercising creativity, seeking new solutions. It is important that innovation occurs within the area of activity of a professional, preventing their solutions from becoming out of step. But it is also healthy to connect curiosity with other areas, because discovering new subjects is an important way to have a diverse and current repertoire of solutions.

Creativity

Creativity is a useful ability to deal with various work situations. Aspects benefited by creativity: creative communication; innovative solutions; creative development of processes and journeys; planning and implementation of strategies. With the extreme speed with which everything happens today, being creative is a great differential to seek efficient resolutions for the most diverse problems.

Adaptability

In a world with constant paradigm shifts, the professional with adaptability is more able to persevere. Adaptability corresponds to the individual who knows how to shape according to the new situations and contexts, knowing how to use, in each situation, their skills, knowledge, and personal characteristics appropriate. Being adaptable means allowing yourself to constantly evolve personally and professionally.

Role

The leading role of the search for knowledge is not in the figure of a teacher, a speaker, or a leader. The protagonist of this quest today must be each of us. Advisors should generate good stimuli for curiosity, but individuals should understand that the role of seeking and acquiring knowledge is theirs.

Learning Skills

Autonomy

Autonomy represents the ability to make good decisions independently, choose paths that make sense and bring well-being to the person who decides, to govern himself through his own resources. This competence is directly related to education, since in order to have autonomy, it is necessary to develop as a person, professional, to know about the world and about itself.

Search for technological knowledge

Technology has become a cross-cutting knowledge. Understanding technological aspects is a growing need for professionals from all areas.

Ability to question

Learning to respond is an ability of artificial intelligence; learning to ask is a human skill. It is necessary to learn to reflect, formulate ideas, question and know where to look for answers to grow intellectually. In today's fast and unstable world, the answers are varied and dated. Thus, maintaining curiosity, being a questioner, and learning to ask the right questions is an exercise in constant updating of knowledge.

Language Acquisition

Acquiring languages doesn't just mean learning a new language or learning how to use a specific tool. Today, the acquisition of languages is to be permanently open to new universes and new learning. It includes the learning of new words and software uses, but also the initiative to be a producer of thoughts and ideas from the capture of the contents that already exist.

Learnability

Learnability, or learning capacity, means knowing how to adapt and develop knowledge throughout professional life; is to be open to constant learning and producing knowledge, content, and skill permanently. Learnability is a lifestyle and behavior that should always be stimulated when you want to progress and evolve.

Method and organization

For learning, it is very important to have a method and organization. This does not mean a requirement to follow spreadsheets or always perform the activities at the same time, but rather the need to have clear objectives. The method allows you to supply good information, grow and develop. And without organization, we were navigating randomness, without focus, without real and deep understanding of the contents.

Resilience Capabilities

Self-care

Self-care requires self-knowledge and observing oneself. It is a way of reconciling demands and responsibilities with emotions, well-being, and mental health, which is fundamental for resilience.

Resilience

It is dealing with adversities, criticisms, crisis situations, pressures (including oneself), and having the ability to return to the healthy emotional state, that is, return to natural conditions after moments of difficulty. This is one of the most visible qualities in leaders.

Perseverance

Being persevering involves not giving up the goals stipulated due to adversity, and thus maintaining consistency in your actions. It requires determination and coherence with personal values and is related to resilience because in every moment of difficulty throughout life it is necessary to be able to return to healthy emotional states that allow persevering to follow.

Dynamism

The ability of the individual to perform fast, agile, and focused actions, making it possible to deal well with pressure or meet multiple demands. Often, the execution of a strategy bumps into unforeseen situations in its planning and, in these moments, the individual who has the capacity of dynamism is extremely efficient due to the rapid capacity of analysis and response of the situation.

Try to grow, to get privileges with the power of knowledge.

And I’d like to finish this article with a quotation from Malala Yousafzai:

“When you're in a better position, when you have the privileges and the opportunities, when you can do something, why not do?”
