My psychology journey happened during COVID with a job that temporarily closed and a five-year-old learning virtually beside me as I did homework, and it was not a breezy experience! While earning my degrees, I started with one plan, quickly evolving into another, and leading to greatness. While I did not know it, “Falolity” began a fabulous holistic journey leading to the self-discovery I didn’t even know I needed.

The beginning

As I studied to earn my master’s degree in psychology, I put my Life Coaching certification to use as prep for my future Psychology practice. However, upon obtaining my degree in Psychology, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in holistic mental health & wellness rather than spend thousands more dollars on my PhD. I already had the education, life experience, and skills to do what I really wanted to do. I was working as a service bar attendant when COVID hit. I had to quit my job to stay home with my son, who was starting his kindergarten education online. At this point, I realized that if I was going to be any kind of success I had to start focusing on my future and work to build my own things, so that is what I did!

The middle

Falolity is now a holding company producing a life coaching business, podcast production, book production, sales, and so much more! Since starting my first business and writing books, my life has changed positively. There have been struggles, as all startup businesses have, but it has been worth it. With just a little patience, drive, and planning, you too can redirect your life when things get knocked out of whack. Refocus, and have faith in yourself that you can use this struggle to amplify your life! Outside of the books we also record, edit, produce, and promote a podcast as well as a monthly blog and weekly “wrap-in”. While my initial mission was to provide coaching to others via a service, I now do it through podcasting and books! My expectations were so different in the beginning. Now that I have accepted change as a consistent factor in business, I embrace each change with the expectation that it will be a consistent factor.

The now

Falolity started as a life coaching business with plans to become a Psychology practice. Falolity now provides coaching on a small scale but largely sells and produces books, produces a podcast, provides writing/editing assistance, and has various community-focused components. What was planned as one thing but started as another has evolved into something completely different than planned, and I love it! Here’s how you can do that as well.

Step 1: Create a broad business goal plan. This plan does not need to be editable.

Step 2: Elaborate your plan details on a platform/surface that can be edited (Microsoft Word, dry-erase board, etc.)

Step 3: Understand and process that your plan details will undergo editing.

Step 4: Consistently undergo plan editing. As your business changes, modify your plan to fit the necessary trajectory.

Step 5: Be consistent with focus, planning, and execution. Stagnant ideas do not produce products. Consistency, however, accomplishes goals.

Summary

Starting a business, project, or plan can be intimidating. When I started my first business, I had a completely different path planned than the path it has taken. Consistency is key. Consistently evolving expectations to change can lead you to success. With these simple steps, you can get where you desire to be while consistently acknowledging and accepting change. Change will come through your success journey, how you navigate that change will determine your destination!
