Belief in God has always required some level of faith or trust in the unknown. What if the truth is so different from what we expect that it has been hiding in plain sight for centuries? The foundation of math itself holds answers to one of mankind’s most disputed questions, but both sides have overlooked them.

A person is clasping their hands in prayer over an open Bible, holding a rosary with a wooden cross.

Can we understand God?

It is impossible to witness or imagine the Creator of all that is measurable. This limit opens the door for all sorts of speculation. Of all the things within religion we find hard to believe, the idea that we could never understand God could be the biggest myth.

Without the ability to apply logic and reason to God, there is no protection from deception or error. We can be comfortable envisioning a Creator with human-like attributes without seeing a contradiction. Those who reject God can recognize the contradiction and view it as a reason to deny God instead of a motivation to abandon imagination and personification when describing God altogether.

Logic & perception

Even when perception is possible, logic and math are more reliable than what we witness. Magicians are constant reminders that “seeing isn’t believing”. The lack of empirical evidence for God has led people to believe that applying logic to the concept of God is unreasonable or taboo. A situation in which perception is impossible seems like the ideal time to turn to logic for answers and math for supporting evidence.

Let’s apply common sense to God

People tend to focus on what sets the various ideas about God apart or nuances in interpretation when introducing new theological ideas. Instead of doing that, let’s focus on what all the monotheistic doctrines believe about God. The one thing they all have in common is the belief that God is the Creator of all.

The simplest and most logical way to isolate the Creator for understanding is to take away the “all” that was created. If you were to mentally negate everything, what would you be left with? Of course, the answer is obviously “nothing”, but that word has too many negative connotations for it to be used in reference to God. It sounds insulting, even blasphemous.

Support from math

To avoid any distracting interpretations that could distort the results of our simple logical exercise, let’s switch to math. Instead of thinking about “nothing” and getting either confused or upset, let’s consider zero. The difference may not be immediately clear because people say zero is nothing. Unlike words that are defined by agreement, the definition of numbers is not subject to interpretation.

Zero represents none and gives all other numbers their fixed and inarguable value. Measurement must have a first, but in order for there to be a first, there must have been none previously. This can be clearly illustrated by the number line. Zero’s foundational role in math mirrors the Origin of all that numbers can be applied to.

Zero’s existence isn’t proof of a Creator. Its necessity is. Zero being used as the foundational reference point for defining all value shows us existence itself doesn’t need a beginning. Measurement does. It proves everything that can be measured has an Origin that can’t be measured.

The analogy that explains God

Zero’s role in math gives us a way to describe a reality whose attributes we can’t count. It gives us a logical reason why we can’t perceive or imagine the Creator. Instead of thinking God’s appearance is too unique for our vision or that God is hiding somewhere mysterious, we recognize that it is impossible to perceive the Origin of matter.

The comparison between zero and God can be summarized with the analogy: God is to reality what zero is to math. This isn’t a metaphor. Zero isn’t real in the physical sense. The analogy compares the role the human construct, zero, plays within the human construct, math, to the role God plays within reality as the Origin of all that is measurable and numbers can be applied to.

Addressing opposition

Because what people believe concerning God is deeply felt by believers, deniers, and skeptics alike, it is easy to take personal offense with any ideas that counter what we hold true. The analogy doesn’t single out any doctrine or position in the God debate. It addresses everyone at the same time with the same logic.

It explains why God has been such an unknown. Zero is the singularity that must have been before any big bang. The physical sciences could never discover it because we can only know the reality it must represent by what it isn’t. Zero’s foundational role in math takes it away from being “one man’s opinion” because the basis is something we’ve accepted since childhood in order to pass in school.

Zero and the attributes of God

Because zero has no value, it is easy to get disrespectful and demean the comparison. What it means to every other value is reason to give it the highest esteem and see it as invaluable. Zero has every attribute associated with God except those that include imaginable or humanlike traits. Those attributes contradict the concept of a Creator, so they should never have been a part of describing God in the first place.

In math, zero is:

  • Absolute (Omnibenevolent)

  • Immeasurable (Infinite)

  • Without beginning or end (Eternal)

  • Without opposite or equal (Singular and Unique)

  • Flawless (Perfect)

  • Invaluable (The Greatest)

When you understand that the Origin is the source of all information and rules concerning reality, it becomes clear how Omniscience and Omnipotence can get distorted through personification.

Why intellectual righteousness matters

Because proof that God is real also shows God is not actively intervening on our behalf, it is easy to make the mistake of thinking God is irrelevant. Simply admitting the logic is flawless is not enough. The truth only benefits you if you’re willing to accept that it is right.

Worshipping God is not a transaction. It is gratitude and prioritization. While applying what we know about zero to what we should believe about God, absolute value stands out as a concept that is relevant and applicable to life. Fully grasping all of its implications can unlock the power of positive perspective in almost all situations (physical torment would be the exception).

Intellectual Righteousness doesn’t just offer logical proof for God. It also offers advice and guidance on how to make the most of life. You must defy expectations and accept the logic to receive it. Explore the unseen constant of existence, and you will find God. Apply what you learn in the process, and you will find peace.

Hassan Bfly introduces a new way of understanding God using common sense and math. His core analogy "God is to reality what zero is to math" cuts through confusion with mathematical precision, inviting both believers and skeptics to consider a foundational truth no one can deny. Through writing, video, music, and on-location appearances, Hassan challenges conventional narratives and empowers others to think beyond doctrine and dogma. His message isn't just belief, it’s understanding.
