Karen Joan Day, Registered Nurse, Health Coach, and Educator

Who Is Karen Joan Day?

I am a proud Single parent of three wonderful children a girl and two boys who are now grown, married, and have blessed me with eight grandchildren.

My journey has been filled with challenges, but I have embraced them with resilience and adaptability, surpassing even the most unimaginable dreams.

My career path has been diverse and fulfilling; I worked at the telephone company for 13 years and have dedicated over 30 years to my passion for nursing.

Additionally, I've been at deeply engaged in studying German new medicine for more than 17 years.

Residing on a farm in northern Saskatchewan, my life has been an adventure, not for the faint of heart, but one that I cherish deeply.

What inspired me to create Trophy Pines Health Works?

In 2007, my father who had always been a healthy man, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. At the time, I was working in the emergency department in Regina, where he came in for his tests. This unexpected diagnosis led me to question: why him, why now, and why a brain tumor instead of another disease? I was curious about how nature determines which disease a person might develop. My search for answers led me to discover German New Medicine (GNM).

Trophy Pines Health Works was born from my desire to share this knowledge with the world. My father's experience became my legacy in discovering GNM. Living in the forest of northern Saskatchewan, surrounded by the beauty and resilience of nature, I was inspired by the animals and trees that thrive despite adversity. They taught me about the circle of life and resilience.

I wanted to offer hope to clients, taking the fear and panic out of health care, helping them find the power within themselves to transcend what the traditional health system offers. My goal was to educate people about the root causes of their symptoms. My father's journey, though painful, inspired me to share the insights I'd gained with others, hoping to make a positive impact in their lives.

What is the biggest problem your clients face before working with you?

Before working with me, many clients face the challenge of not fully understanding what I do. Through the MBA program, I developed ‘The Day One Method,” a framework designed to help individuals identify their specific needs related to chronic pain and other symptom-related concerns.

Clients often need to know that I combine my extensive nursing experience with my knowledge of German New Medicine (GNM) to offer nurse coaching. This approach supports their mental, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Another significant challenge is building trust in report. Establishing these connections is crucial and it requires a step-by-step process to ensure clients feel comfortable and supported through their journey. This foundation of trust is key to effectively addressing their health concerns and achieving meaningful results.

How I help clients overcome that problem.

To help clients understand the full scope of my services, I focus on clear communication and education. I offer initial consultations where I explained the day one method and how it integrates my nursing background with German new medicine (GNM) principles during these sessions, I provide detailed explanations of how my nurse coaching can address their mental, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual needs. This helps clients see the comprehensive nature of my approach and how it can be tailored to their specific concerns.

To assure clients of confident confidentiality and a trusting environment, I emphasize the importance of perception, privacy and ethical standards in all my interactions. I clearly outline the confidentiality policies in place, ensuring clients that their personal information and health concerns are handled with the utmost care and discretion. Building trust is an ongoing process, and I make it a priority to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences and challenges. By maintaining transparency and open communication, I foster a relationship built on trust and mutual respect with compassion and genuineness.

What sets your approach apart from other practitioners in your field?

My approach is distinguished by my focus on educating clients about the root causes of chronic pain and other illnesses. I integrate conventional health systems with the new medicine, specifically German New Medicine (GNM), to provide a biological perspective. This integration allows me to help take the fear and panic out of healthcare by offering clear explanations as to why the body responds with certain symptoms at certain times in life.

By providing a deeper understanding of the body's responses, I empower clients to make informed decisions about their health. My approach is holistic and biological, addressing not just the symptoms but the underlying causes, which helps clients achieve long-term well-being. This unique combination of education an integration sets my practice apart providing clients with a comprehensive and insightful path to health.

Can you share a success story of someone who’s transformed with your help?

Certainly! One of the most profound success stories is that of my own mother, who was involved in a tragic accident in 2015. She sustained severe injuries, including brain bleeds, fractures in her owner radius, pelvis fractures and a degloved right leg. She also experienced amnesia, losing her memory for three days. Despite these challenges, by December of that same year, she was walking again, and her severe leg wound had healed remarkably.

The knowledge of German New Medicine (GNM) played a crucial role in her recovery, and instead of being sent to conventional rehab, which might have limited her longevity, she was sent home to rehab and embraced the GNM mindset that the body is designed to heal itself. This perspective empowered her to overcome her injuries and live another eight years, even after being diagnosed with pelvic bone cancer in 2019. She continued to walk until she passed away at the age of 83 in 2023.

Her story is a testament to the power of understanding the body's natural healing processes and the impact of a positive perception and mindset.   It highlights the transformative potential of integrating GNM principles into health and recovery.

What are the top three things someone should do if they want to get started working with you?

  1. Embrace an Open Mindset: Be open to exploring alternative health care methods that go beyond conventional medicine. This involves taking an active role in your health journey and being willing to consider new perspectives and approaches, such as German New Medicine (GNM), to understand and address the root causes of health issues.

  2. Shift in Perception: Be ready to change how you currently perceive health and healing. This means moving away from a passive role in your healthcare and towards a more engaged and proactive approach. Understanding that your body has a natural ability to heal and that your mindset plays a crucial role in this process is key.

  3. Commitment to Health Investment: Be willing to invest in your health journey, both in terms of time and resources. This commitment is essential for achieving meaningful and lasting results. Investing in your health means prioritizing self-care, education, and the necessary steps to enhance your well-being.

By focusing on these three areas, you can fully benefit from the unique approach I offer, which integrates conventional health systems with the innovative principles of GNM for a holistic, biological and empowering healthcare experience.

How do you tailor your services to meet the unique needs of each client?

  • Personalized assessment: I begin by conducting A thorough assessment of each client's health history, current symptoms, and personal goals. This helps me understand their unique circumstances and tailor my approach to their specific needs.

  • Integrative Approach: By combining my nursing expertise with German New Medicine (GNM) principles, I create a customized plan that addresses both the physical and emotional aspects of health. This integrative approach ensures that we consider all factors contributing to the client's well-being.

  • Ongoing support and adaptation: I provide continuous support and adjust the plan as needed. This involves regular check-ins to monitor progress, address any new concerns, and ensure that the client's evolving needs are met. By maintaining open communication, I can adapt my services to provide the most effective and personalized care.

This tailored approach ensures that each client receives the guidance and support they need to achieve their health goals and improve their overall quality of life.

What role does mindset and lifestyles play in your work with clients?

Mindset and lifestyle are integral components of my work with clients, serving as the foundation for effective healing and transformation.

  • Mindset: A positive and empowered mindset is crucial for healing. I emphasize the importance of understanding that the body is designed to heal itself and that our thoughts and beliefs significantly impact our health outcomes. By fostering a mindset that embraces possibility of unleashing the power from within and being resilient, clients can overcome challenges and enhance their healing processes.

  • Lifestyle: lifestyle choices, including nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and sleep, play a vital role in overall health. I work with clients to identify areas where lifestyle adjustments can support their health goals. This holistic, biological approach ensures that all aspects of their daily lives contribute positively to their well-being.

By integrating mindset and lifestyle into my practice, I help clients create a balanced and supportive environment for healing, leading to a sustainable health improvement and a higher quality of life.

What is one myth you wish people would stop believing about health/wellness?

One pervasive myth I wish people would stop believing is that the body inevitably falls apart and that nature is hostile. This belief undermines the body's incredible capacity for healing and resilience.

  • The Body's Resilience: The body is not designed to fall apart; Rather, it is equipped with remarkable self-healing mechanisms. When we understand and support this natural process, we can enhance our health and longevity.

  • Nature’s Harmony: Nature is not hostile; It is a supportive environment that provides the resources and conditions necessary for healing and growth. By aligning with natural principles and rhythms, we can foster a harmonious relationship with our bodies and the world around us.

Dispelling this myth allows individuals to adopt A more empowering perspective on health and Wellness, recognizing the body's innate ability to heal and thrive in a supportive natural environment.
