This month I’ve been really focusing on a reset with my BODY. I had been hit with COVID going back a couple of months and then the stomach flu. Prior to this, I had been Dragan lifting – see my previous articles – weekly for one hour, achieving 600-700 consecutive lifts. When I became ill, it changed all this…

It took me until the start of July 2022 to realize how much this has depleted my strength. I had an alternative and slightly less intense form of training to aid my recovery.

When I returned to my Dragan lifts for the first time in about three months, I had a big shock. I could barely push out 150 at the weight I had been using before. This was disheartening, and I knew something had to change.

I chose to go back to basics, REBUILD from the ground up and start with 100 lifts daily. I’ve also encouraged my clients to join me by creating a private Facebook group (see link below). The challenge in the group is simple but not easy.

This made me realise and recognise that my targets are achievable – but I have to break it down my levels of commitment had to increase in order to make this happen.

I’m encouraging my clients and myself to “FEEL” the fitness experiences that I take them through, not just “do” and go through the motions.

Collectively we become more…

Focused. Committed. Have a sense of direction. Have a feeling of clarity as we have targets set for the month that are achievable.

The lesson I learned from choosing to reset and rebuild my body was that I must be prepared to pivot, but keep the time frame short to prevent overwhelm so I can achieve my set target.

Ultimately I have simplified what I am setting out to achieve with my body.

Here is a simple summary:

Reset + simplification + shorter time frames = prevention of overwhelm and results been achieved.
