In the quiet hills of Brandon Hill, a small district in the parish of Saint Andrew, Jamaica, a young boy dreamed of a life far beyond what surrounded him. That boy was Cornell Bunting, a dreamer with a deep sense of purpose, long before he knew what his journey would require. Today, Cornell is not only an author, motivational speaker, and philanthropist, but also a man on a mission to rewrite the narratives of disadvantaged youth, one story at a time.

Man in turquoise outfit sits thoughtfully on a bench under a large tree. Wears sunglasses and colorful sneakers. Background of lush greenery.

Cornell’s life is a story of perseverance, rebirth, and service, marked by remarkable triumphs and unimaginable trials. In 2000, he migrated from Jamaica to the United States with little more than hope and ambition. Through hard work and a relentless mindset, he became a U.S. citizen in 2011 and launched a successful security company. It seemed the dream was realized.

But in 2013, his world came crashing down.

Cornell became the victim of a fabricated story that led to his wrongful arrest. He faced 16 felony charges that threatened to destroy everything he had built. For months, he fought a legal battle that tested his faith, his strength, and his identity. And he won. He was exonerated. But the ordeal left deep emotional scars, and even more unexpected consequences.

Just months after his trial ended, Cornell suffered a medical crisis that left him clinically dead for 16 minutes. He flatlined. He saw the light. And when he returned, everything changed.

“That experience brought everything into perspective,” Cornell says. “It was a divine reset. I realized my life was never just about me. It was about using my story to help others find theirs.”

From that moment, Cornell walked away from comfort and into calling.

He founded EHAS INC, a nonprofit organization based in Florida, with the core belief that “Everyone Has A Story.” It was a natural evolution of his passion for storytelling and empowerment, building platforms to help youth, especially those from underserved communities, recognize the power of their voice and rewrite their own futures.

EHAS has since expanded to Jamaica with EHAS Jamaica, focusing on communities like the one that raised him. Cornell returned to Brandon Hill, not in victory, but in purpose, to uplift youth who, like him, might feel unseen or unsupported.

Through programs like:

  • Stories to Create, which encourages personal storytelling, healing, and identity building,

  • Y.E.S. (Youth Empowerment Sessions), which offers tools for leadership, entrepreneurship, and mindset development,

  • And a host of awareness events, school tours, and community workshops.

Cornell is doing more than motivating he’s mobilizing.

“I want every young person in Jamaica and beyond to know that where you come from does not limit where you can go. Your story can become your superpower.”

But this movement can’t grow without support.

Join the mission – Be a part of the story

EHAS Jamaica is actively seeking:

  • Donors and funding partners to support program development, youth outreach, and community events

  • Mentors to work directly with youth in the Stories to Create initiative

  • Program coordinators and volunteers to help facilitate empowerment sessions and island-wide engagement

  • Corporate sponsors to invest in long-term youth transformation and visibility

Every donation, every shared story, and every hour of service contributes to a ripple effect of change. Your support fuels programs that foster self-worth, resilience, and opportunity for youth who have been overlooked for far too long.

Cornell Bunting has walked through fire and come back with a mission bigger than himself. His story is not just about survival, it’s about revival. And now, he’s helping others do the same.
