Travelling opens us up to new perspectives, cultures, foods and traditions. We learn a lot by visiting different destinations outside our everyday environment. We become excited to experience new activities, historical architecture, foreign languages and social customs. We eat and drink fresh delicacies and change our sleep and rhythm.

Whether you are travelling for business, leisure or vacation, or you choose to expedite for days, weeks and months, you are inevitably leaving your comfort zone, and your body, mind and spirit will adapt to your new routine. Keeping up with your health could be difficult, and thus it will be essential to keep up with a healthy, doable, flexible regime when living from your suitcase. These five healthy tips will keep you strong and healthy as you explore new lands and horizons.

1. Stock up on supplements and multivitamins

You are on the move, and your diet will be inconsistent. Depending on where you travel, you will adapt to cultural foods, social outings and experiences that take you out of your regular eating routine.

For example, you may skip breakfast and take on an "Eat Pray Love" attitude as you Rome through Italy, tasting the finest pizzas and pasta. As a result, your diet will be flawed, and it will be essential to keep up with what could be lacking with supplements.

2. Work out a minimum of 30 minutes a day.

No matter where you are and what you are doing, you can find 30 minutes daily to do a quick workout. Body weight workouts such as Squats, Lunges, Push-ups, and Burpees do wonders for your strength and metabolism when you cannot find a local gym.

3. Travel Lightly and pack for every weather.

Climate changes are evident when you travel to a country that is not your origin. Wet, Dry or Humid weather differs worldwide, and 25 degrees hot in Italy will not be the same as 25 Degrees in Norway. Therefore, pack lightly and focus on clothing that is essential to every possible weather and only takes up a little room in your suitcase.

4. Take breaks to Ground yourself.

Depending on your Travel schedule, try to find at least one day in your travel destination where you can settle and ground yourself. Local Tours, Activities and Attractions may take up most of our time as we are trying to see everything quickly. Although, this can lead to burnout and exhaustion and take the relaxation out of your travels. We all need some R&R. Find a hotel or Airbnb where you can put down your things and feel comfortable hibernating and reading a good book.

5. Stay Connected to your Friends and Family

Whether travelling for a couple of days, weeks or months, being separated from our friends and families for too long can be challenging. But it is healthy to have separation.

Although, when you find yourself sinking in depressive quicksand, seek out connections where you are staying or call and message your friends and family back home. It can lift your spirits and make you grateful for your adventure.
