Karys Ann Haggett, Law of Attraction & Empowerment Coach

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

Bore da! I am Karys Ann (also known as the I KANN Queen). An energetic, free-spirited hype girl, cat lover, coach, speaker, and dancer, and I just LOVE helping women break themselves free of the chains that have been holding them back and finally live their dream lives.

I was born in a small Welsh valleys town, I went to school in a Castle (I didn’t realise how cool this was at the time, of course), and have 1 younger brother and now a little nephew who’s the light of my life. I always struggled to “know what I wanted to do” as a career, but fell into project management in government around 10 years ago.

Although on the surface my husband and I looked really “Settled” in Wales, we had a house, a car, a good stable government job, and our cat George, I felt like my life was one of those Groundhog Day hamster wheels and had this urge that “there has to be more to life than this”.

So my husband and I, 2 years after getting married, left it all behind to move across the world to Australia in February 2020. Australia, especially moving during COVID, came with some challenges, but it allowed me to find myself fully, opened my eyes to Law of Attraction, manifesting some incredible Sydney Harbour view apartments, but it took 2 years after burnout in another government project management job to realise this gaping hole of “purpose” was still calling.

Fast forward to now, and I can honestly say I have found my purpose in empowering women to break free, find themselves and create the life they were always dreaming of.

I love musical theatre, music, dancing, all forms of self-development (especially LOA, of course), and FOOD (apart from onions, they are the devil!). I am the girl you call when you’re looking for a silver lining and to help you realise you’re magic!

Karys, you’ve built a strong foundation around female empowerment and dance embodiment. What inspired you to integrate dance into your coaching practice, and how do you see it transforming the lives of the women you work with?

I always loved to dance as a child, and growing up, going into adult life, I lost that part of myself, until I attended my first Turn’d Up Fitness class in 2019. This re-ignited a spark inside me that had been lost for years, and actually made me feel “free” for the first time since primary school. I truly believe if we danced more the world would be a much happier place. Dance has the ability to raise your vibration in an instant, make you forget about your worries, so you can focus on what you want to create.

As an empowerment coach and motivational speaker, you emphasise the importance of women stepping into their power. Can you share a specific moment or experience that led you to discover your own true purpose and how it influenced your work?

I was around 2 years into my Australian adventure when I got burnt out working 50-60-hour workweeks in a government job. I manifested one more Project Management role, that should have been the “perfect” job for me, but I still felt empty. It was through having a call at my lowest with the Employee Assistance Program at work and attending some women’s circles, that I realised how much I loved coaching and helping people, so I signed up to a coaching foundation certificate to test the waters, and I instantly knew this was for me. I couldn’t wait to keep learning, and passed my course in record time! The longest part of the journey for me was actually finding out what this “purpose” was, so this is the first thing I LOVE to do with my clients cut out years of self-discovery to find & pursue it, collapsing time in the process.

Your coaching programs are designed to help women transform their lives. What do you believe is the biggest obstacle women face when it comes to pursuing their dreams and how do you help them overcome it?

I know you asked for 1, but there’s actually 2 in my eyes. The first is getting clear on what they truly want. Getting clarity on what their dream looks like. We use my SEASONS framework to do deep self-discovery and uncover what lights them up inside. I have a particularly good “spidey sense” that lights up when we discover the dream, purposeful path for my clients.

The next obstacle is their inner “negative Nancy”. My clients are usually overthinkers with a strong inner critic, and they tend to feed into all the things that could go wrong, and why they can’t do it, rather than how amazing it could be and why it’s meant for them! So we eliminate that. I help them realise that we all have a negative Nancy, it’s just a protection mechanism from our brains to keep us safe. I help shift that using my Can KANN framework, to break free from their inner critic and shift focus to all the things they want and are doing right.

You work with a diverse group of women, particularly within the expat community. What unique challenges do you find this group faces, and how does your coaching address those specific needs?

The expat community in my eyes have already done one of the hardest things you can do to move away from everyone and everything you have ever known, so they have the perfect opportunity to re-invent themselves.

However, I see all too often that they start the cycle of trying to “fit in” again, and get stuck in the same jobs that made them unhappy, only now with more sunshine, and honestly, it breaks my heart! Everyone has a dream in their mind when they have the urge to escape their old world, and it’s my mission to help them unlock that again! I work deeply with women to uncover their own uniqueness and reconnect with dreams they had when they first moved, so they can re-ignite their spark and live the life they know they deserve.

Through your “We KANN Create” program, you teach women the power of Law of Attraction. What advice would you give to someone who’s skeptical about the Law of Attraction but is interested in using it to transform their life?

Try it! A lot of people have this skeptical “I’ll believe it when I see it” mentality, but the magic of LOA is that you have to believe it until you see it. So start with something small. Start with a little statement at the beginning of each day to highlight what you want to create. I used to say on repeat, “I’m looking for the exciting new things coming to me today,” and sure enough, every day would bring something exciting. You can also ask for a “sign”, like a particular coloured butterfly or even a free coffee to test the universe’s power of giving. Even a simple gratitude practice every morning can shift what you see in your world and the great things you receive.

As an advocate for women’s empowerment, how do you see the role of community and support in a woman’s personal growth, and how do you foster this sense of unity within your programs and events?

Community is SO important. I am SO passionate about bringing women together to form an uplifting and empowering community to help each other achieve our dreams, so within my group coaching, dance classes, and 1:1 programs, I create intimate, powerful community groups to allow my clients to do just that. I also run workshops and talks, which are constantly reflecting the female empowerment community that I am creating - we lift as we climb, always! There is always an option to stay connected in my Expat’s Elevate Facebook community and internally. You become the 5 people you spend your time with, so to have people who are also pursuing their dreams in your proximity is where the power lies!

If you could change one thing about your industry what would it be?

Honestly, I would change the thousands of “Manifestation” practices out there, and to be honest, that word “manifestation” in general. It has so many negative connotations, so many things you need to “do” to get what you want. It also implies that you’re only “manifesting” when you decide you are.

The Law of Attraction suggests we are always creating with our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, and we are a magnet for what we are giving out. So in simple terms - just ask, and you’ll receive - therefore stop asking for what you don’t want and only what you do want. It doesn’t need to be overcomplicated. Get CLEAR on what you DO want, set your focus on BELIEVING you can achieve it, clear any unhelpful thoughts that are telling you the opposite, and watch it fall into place with ease!
