Rebecca T. Dickson, Leadership Coach

Tell us more about your work. What makes you and it unique?

I was born and still reside in New England, astoundingly beautiful landscape ripe with forests, oceans, lakes and wildlife. I grew up with my hands dirty and I loved it. In fact, the one thing I disliked the most about my business before I made changes was my disconnection from nature.

Today, my work involves blending emotional intelligence with nature and horse therapy for women leaders who want to rise far beyond the rest and not burnout. My uniqueness lies in my deep study of psychology in combination with my profound connection to the natural world. My practice relies on the healing power of self-acceptance, but my horses and nature are the best living examples of how to be who you want to be. When I point out the examples he herd and the trees offer, women often instantly realize it’s okay to give themselves permission to be who they are, express their needs, and lead the way they want.

With the Yes Method™, I created a way of thinking and being that allows women how to accept themselves, their feelings and their opinions no matter what. It’s a groundbreaking modality that harnesses the power of the individual’s ability to say yes to themselves, thereby increasing mental, physical and emotional freedom and financial success.

My goal is to help women be who they truly are with ease, trusting their intuition by reconnecting to the rhythms of the earth and themselves. I integrate nature-based practices, somatic tools and psychology to help clients achieve sustainable success of their own design. Normalizing emotions and using your voice is the key to success.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

A key moment was when I found myself caught in the cycle of overachieving and eventually burnout. I was at my peak, earning multiple 7 figures, and was simultaneously absolutely miserable. I had no time to myself, no time with family, struggled to fall asleep, ate horribly. I just kept thinking, “If this is ‘success,’ then I don’t want it.”

Eventually, I took my foot off the gas because my adrenal glands were just wiped out. I was chronically exhausted. Sometime after that, I remembered how much I used to love being outside. I started spending more time with my horses and in the forest. Then I realized success doesn’t have to come at the cost of well-being. I had been making it hard because no one had taught me any differently.

I’ve since learned that rest is a strategy. This realization changed everything, including my coaching practice today. I help women understand they can excel in leadership roles without the grind. They learn how to get more down with less effort. This shift in perspective allowed me to grow my business while maintaining alignment with my values. It helps my clients do the same, and often saves their health and relationships too.

I am well-rested, well-fed, well paid and relaxed. To me, that is success and I am unwilling to compromise. More importantly, I learned no one else has to either, and I can show women a new way of being.

What drives/inspires you?

My driving force is my passion for helping women break free from societal pressures that demand perfection and overachieving. We live in a culture that teaches us to wear exhaustion like a badge of honor.

It’s heartbreaking to see so many women crumbling under the weight of their own expectations, never realizing they would get further, faster, if they prioritized themselves. Nature taught me that. I’m inspired by watching what unfolds outdoors. Everything is always on time, and never in a rush. There is no alarm clock. No worrying if dawn will come. Nature trusts itself.

When women tune into themselves—using emotional intelligence and disregarding ideas about working harder than everyone else—they become the leaders they were always meant to be. My clients are women who are ready to step into a new way of leading one that’s sustainable, intuitive and aligned with their core values.

My children are also a huge source of my motivation and inspiration. I strive to show them what’s possible when you trust your inner guidance above all else, especially when other people don’t like it. You are the only one who has to approve of how you choose to live.

Tell us about your greatest achievement so far.

One of my greatest achievements has been creating the YES Method™. It’s distinctive in its simplicity and power to foster permission. So many women struggle with allowing themselves anything. This practice allows 'everything'.

Even before I created that, I was extremely proud of the growth of this business globally, blending personal development with nature-based practices, showing people another way of succeeding.

Another highlight of my career was hosting retreats in Boston with Jack Canfield and an elite group of my clients. Each time, we spent three immersive days with the best of the best.

Overall, watching women step into their leadership roles after coaching with me, fully grounded in their inner power, honoring themselves, saying no, asking people to show up for them that’s something I will never get tired of. Every time I see a client overcome burnout and reconnect with their purpose, it’s a big win. They finally understand they don’t have to anything the way the world wants or expects. They can make it up as they go in a way that feels incredible to them.

What would you like to achieve for yourself and your business in the future?

I’m continuing to build a global movement centered on the YES Method™ combined with nature-based wisdom, and increasing leadership skills via emotional intelligence. In the future, I see myself certifying other coaches in the YES Method™ and hosting many more in-person retreats. Eventually, I plan to open a nonprofit horse rescue where women can come to experience what true leadership looks like. (No one does it better than horses.)

I want a world where women feel empowered to lead on their own terms, without sacrificing their well-being. I know they can have it. It’s my job to get the word out.

My motto is, “Simplify to amplify.” Make it easy. Take it easy.
