From a personal perspective, in a world where technology has opened up endless opportunities for self-expression and connection, podcasting has emerged as a powerful platform for individuals to share their voices, ideas, and stories. For me, podcasting has become more than just a hobby or a means of entertainment; it has been a transformative experience that has allowed me to create, collaborate, and be a part of something bigger than I ever imagined. In this article, I want to share my love for podcasting and how it has enriched my life in unexpected ways.

Since starting the TwoSistas podcast almost (4) years ago, I started out not knowing a single thing until I was put to the test! I host the TwoSistas Podcast along with my sister, Carroll-Sue. We share our love of wellness through fitness and nutrition.

I found podcasting to be an unknown creative process that I wasn’t sure even existed. We had a passion and we went for it! We both perfected our skills and started to invite an amazing array of guests. To date, we have recorded 681 episodes! To check out TwoSistas, please click here.

As a Virtual Assistant, I decided to start my podcast. I had to ask myself, “Do I want to start a 2nd podcast?” Being a VA, there are so many different topics to share with your audience. I did a lot of research and started my 2nd podcast TrulyYourVA with Janis. To date, I have recorded 68 episodes! To check out my VA podcast, please click here.

Everyone has a story to share. Being thrust into a situation I never imagined, my son had suffered a life-threatening injury (he is doing very well today!) In one of my conversations with my son, something he said to me on one of my unexpected trips to Philly touched my heart! He wanted me to pursue my talents and pursue my passion. It was when I was in traffic on my way back to Connecticut that I knew what I wanted to do!

A way to give back to others, to share their stories, their triumphs, and so much more! Stories That Inspire Us was conceived and to date, I have recorded 132 episodes! To check out the “Stories” podcast, please click here.

Creating and collaborating

Podcasting has given me a creative outlet unlike any other. It has allowed me to craft my narrative, explore topics that resonate with me, and share my perspective with a global audience. Through creating episodes, I have honed my storytelling skills, refined my communication abilities, and discovered a passion for producing engaging content. One of the most magical aspects of podcasting is the opportunity to collaborate with people from all walks of life. I have had the privilege of interviewing fascinating individuals, experts in their fields, and everyday people with extraordinary stories to tell.

Each conversation has undoubtedly broadened my horizons, challenged my preconceptions, and deepened my understanding of the world. The connections I have made through podcasting have enriched my life and allowed me to connect with others, fostering a sense of community and shared experiences.

Being a part of something bigger

Podcasting has shown me that my voice matters and that there are people out there who resonate with my message. The ability to reach a diverse audience and have meaningful conversations with listeners has been incredibly fulfilling. I am humbled by the feedback, messages of support, and stories of how my podcast has touched the lives of others.

It is a reminder that we are all connected and that our stories have the power to inspire, educate, and empower others.

Growing my podcast VA business

As an added benefit, my love for podcasting has organically led to the growth of my podcast virtual assistant (VA) business. Through my own experience and expertise gained from producing my podcasts, I have been able to offer valuable services to fellow podcasters. Assisting them with tasks such as show notes creation, social media management, and guest coordination has not only allowed me to contribute to the podcasting community but has also provided a source of income and professional growth.

Conclusion

Podcasting has become an integral part of my life, allowing me to embrace my creativity, foster collaborations, and be a part of something bigger than myself. The connections I have made, the stories I have shared, and the growth I have experienced have been truly transformative. I am grateful for the opportunities podcasting has presented and the doors it has opened. It has not only allowed me to express myself but has also empowered me to help others and contribute to a thriving community.

If you have ever considered starting a podcast or becoming involved in the podcasting world, I encourage you to leap. You never know where this incredible journey might lead you.
