There isn’t much of a difference between December 31st and January 1st! However, we use this transition into the new year as if there is mysterious energy out there ready to help us move forward with our dreams and aspirations. Like a second chance to achieve our goals and deepest desires. We suddenly believe in ourselves again, and that we can start fresh!

Every day of the year is a new opportunity to make a change. That powerful feeling of optimism towards our new year resolutions can be harvested on any day of the year, the magic is within us at any time. Each day is a new opportunity to reevaluate if we are heading in the right direction or moving further from where we want to be.

We have to learn to switch gears throughout the whole year and get that correct mindset to pull through and get things done. Here are a few easy ways to successfully manifest your goals into reality once and for all. If you put these tricks into practice, you’ll move faster in the right direction!

Write It Down

Writing down your dreams and goals can help you reconsider your priorities and what you truly want to be focusing on. Journaling is also a great way to exteriorize deeper desires and insights that would otherwise stay buried. This will help you anchor your desires and intentions to saying “yes to self”, and make your goals more solid and tangible. Write your goals big or small, don’t judge them or tweak them. Let your heart speak! If your goals come from within, and not from an external source, you will be more successful at obtaining what you want. Goals can be deep desires, something you want to do or learn, a new healthy habit you need to start or even something you want to work towards purchasing.

Create Change

If you want to be in a different place in life, you will have to do things differently! We are creatures of habit, and most of those habits no longer serve us in a healthy way. Make a list of the top actions, beliefs, habits and behaviors you need to change to transform yourself and your life so you can move closer to where you want to be. Start with small daily changes in your routine that are doable, and write down new ones as you progress throughout the year. The 21/90 rule states that it takes 21 days to make a new habit and 90 days to make it a permanent lifestyle change. So, don’t give up!

Honesty Is Key

Be completely honest with yourself at all times when reflecting, questioning and projecting. Dig into the reasons why you want to achieve these goals and what they mean to you. Have an honest look at yourself when you question your old beliefs, bad habits and failed attempts to reach a goal. This will allow you to find extra motivation and take the proper actions towards your goals.

Question Yourself

Before jumping into a new year with new resolutions, take time to celebrate and appreciate what you’ve achieved and how much you’ve grown as a person over the past year. Write down your victories, big and small. Then, ask yourself what goals were easy to achieve in the past year and why, and what goals weren’t reached and what got in the way. This is a good time to reevaluate your goals. Are they still getting you excited? Or, are you moving on to new ones this year?

What did you learn about yourself in the last year? Right now, what needs your attention? What do you need to change to get closer to where you want to be? Where do you want to be a year from now?

Visualize and Embody

Finally, set yourself up for success and train your mind to see and feel the steps you need to take to get to your goal. It’s one thing to close your eyes and visualize the outcome, but you will be more successful if you also hold a clear vision of seeing yourself going through the necessary steps to get there.

Start embodying your ideal self right now. Become that version of yourself you need to be in order to achieve your goals. Start acting like your future self right away, and take on the new habits, and new behavior as soon as possible. When you take time to visualize and embody what you want and who you need to become, you are training your mind to do the work that you have been avoiding. By creating a roadmap for your brain, you will be more likely to follow through. Be the actor of your own movie and have fun with stepping out of your comfort zone.

Remember that change happens one little action step at a time. Keep your new year resolutions exciting and have a positive mindset. If you are looking for extra motivation and accountability, you can hire a coach, work with a close friend or family member or join a support group. That little “Kick in the butt” coming from people around you, might be just what you need in order to make the next year your best one yet!
