Nimir Raval, Coach and Counsellor

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

Hey there, I'm Nimir Raval (he/him)! I wear many hats I'm a queer, father, social worker, coach, and business adviser. I'm all about helping folks reach their full potential, armed with a Master of Social Work and an MA in Leadership. As a certified coach, I get a kick out of guiding people through life's hurdles and watching them conquer their goals.

You can find me soaking up quality time with my daughter, friends and pets when I'm not in work mode. I'm a bookworm and love diving into different perspectives through literature. Exercise, Mindfulness and meditation are my go-to for keeping that work-life balance in check. I'm all about growth and learning; that passion carries over into my coaching practice.

I'm on a mission to help others find fulfillment and success, and I can't wait to share my expertise and insights with you. Let's make some magic happen!

What inspired you to start EI Growth, and could you share the mission and vision behind the organization?

EI Growth was inspired by my personal experiences and a desire to help others overcome their challenges. Having overcome abuse and embraced my true identity, the support of a community and mentors empowered me. This experience led me to dedicate over 20 years to counselling, coaching, and training to support personal and professional growth.

The mission of EI Growth is to empower individuals and businesses to unlock their potential for happiness, success, and fulfillment. My approach is professional, personable, and built on trust and integrity. My coaching services are tailored to deliver personalized, results-driven support, helping clients navigate through challenging situations, overcome obstacles, and make impactful changes.

The vision behind EI Growth is to create a transformative process that helps people overcome obstacles, gain clarity, and unleash their inner potential, enabling them to create fulfilling relationships and achieve personal growth and fulfillment. My coaching also extends to helping individuals and business owners align their actions and mindset with the practical realities of their business, allowing them to achieve optimal performance and sustainable success.

In summary, my inspiration for starting EI Growth came from my journey of resilience and personal growth, and my mission is to empower others to overcome their challenges and achieve fulfillment. I envision creating a supportive and transformative coaching process that helps individuals and businesses achieve their full potential.

What are the future plans and aspirations for EI Growth? Are there any upcoming projects, expansions, or initiatives you'd like to highlight?

The future of EI Growth is looking pretty darn exciting, let me tell you. We're gearing up to expand our online services, honing in on leadership and diving into the world of podcasts, all while covering various industries. We're setting our sights on Europe and the US, aiming to bring our top-notch services to even more folks in those parts of the world.

But wait, there's more! Drumroll, please... We're also cooking up a super innovative product focused on relationships, complete with all the bells and whistles of research and collaboration with industry pros. I've got a hunch that this little gem will be a real game-changer in the self-help industry, both for personal and professional growth.

So, in a nutshell, we're revving up our engines for some major growth and shaking things up in the best possible way. Get ready, world! EI Growth is coming at ya with some serious mojo.

How does EI Growth engage with its community or clients? Are there any events, forums, or resources that you provide to foster a sense of community among your audience? Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

Having over 20 years of experience in corporate, nonprofits, government, and international organizations, I've gotta say, it's the everyday victories that really take the cake. I mean, tough days? I like to call those "character development days" (CD Days)—they're like boot camp for the soul, am I right?

As a social worker and coach, the biggest gift has been cultivating an attitude focused on helping people, all while learning to take care of myself. It's like driving an organization to excel and flourish—it's a balancing act that I've come to cherish.

Sure, I could brag about specific milestones and successes, but let's not overlook the everyday moments of growth and resilience. It's those little wins that add up to the big ones, like finding money in your coat pocket—unexpected and oh so satisfying!

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

If I could change one thing about my industry, it would be to reduce the stigma around seeking help for personal and professional growth. You know, it's like convincing people that going to the gym is not just for folks who are out of shape; it's for those who are fit and want to stay that way. Many individuals and businesses hesitate to seek coaching or counseling due to the fear of being perceived as weak or incapable. I believe that by normalizing the idea of seeking support and guidance, we can create a more open and accepting environment where people feel comfortable addressing their challenges and working towards positive change. This shift would enable more individuals and businesses to access the support they need to unlock their potential and achieve sustainable success.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

Let me tell you, when you've been through more plot twists than a soap opera character and have been hiding your identity due to cultural and societal constructs, every moment is significant. But what really changed the game for me was a single leap of faith. Picture this: I'm feeling like I've been hit by a truck carrying a load of yellow paint (thanks, yellow fever), and I'm ready to throw in the towel on my MSW. So, I texted and went to see Ninad Jhala, the mentor and professor of social work, and basically told him I couldn't do it anymore.

And then, like a superhero swooping in to save the day, Ninad hits me with this gem: "You can if you want to, and if you want to, you will achieve by whatever it takes, by hook or by crook." It was like a lightning bolt of motivation straight to the heart! Sure, my culture, parents, friends, supervisors, mentors, and coaches have all contributed to shaping me, but that moment with Ninad was like the universe saying, "Hey, you've got this!"

So here I am today, fueled by that leap of faith and ready to tackle whatever comes my way, even if it means using a few crooks or hooks along the way. It's like a Bollywood movie, except I'm the hero of my own story, and Ninad is my wise mentor with a killer catchphrase.
