Lindsay McKean-Lynch, Life Coach
Who is Lindsay McKean-Lynch?
I hold many titles, domestic abuse survivor, mother, wife, certified life coach, counselor in training, family program director, author, podcast host, speaker, EFT tapping practitioner, facilitator of transformation. Under each of those titles is a woman who embraced change and rebuilt the relationship with herself.
I enjoy being in nature, going on hikes, embracing my creativity, and spending time with loved ones. I attended a technical high school for early childhood education and worked in the education field for thirteen years.
What inspired you to launch The Balanced Bureau and serve “calm to chaos” solutions?
Motherhood inspired me to launch The Balanced Bureau and meet the chaos with calm. I went through a hustle phase when my two daughters were growing their independence. I managed three businesses, a part-time job, and motherhood all at one time. Most would ask, “How do you do it all?” It was because of my intention, priorities, and boundaries. There was a noticeable trend of burnt-out parents, managing all the chaos, and it simply does not have to be that way. Through these practices and processes, I’ve helped busy parents shift their perspective and “do it all” in their way.
Can you walk us through a success story where someone completely transformed through your program?
One success story I share, and often the response is a jaw-drop. I’ve worked with a grieving widow who was experiencing suicidal ideation, addiction, and self-doubt. Their answers were usually heavily negative, zero motivation to continue on, zero self-love. After our sessions together, they reported back to me that they’ve found a new sense of hope, enjoyment, and fulfilment in their life. No longer clinging to ideation as the only answer. They’re working on new projects, open to new opportunities, and running with the wonder life has to offer.
What’s the most common mindset shift people must make to begin creating real balance?
The mindset shift that people must make to begin creating true balance is to shift their perspective on balance itself. What does balance currently look like for you? Is it equalizing two things? Is it choosing balance? If you’re searching for balance in your life, remember more is not always the answer.
If a potential client is unsure if coaching is right for them, what indicators should they look for?
If you’re thinking about starting your journey with a coach, that is an indicator that you’re ready. Other points to look out for, you’re sick of your own excuses, you want more for yourself, you’re overwhelmed most of the time, you just need someone to talk to. Human connection is necessary, you get to choose who you connect with for a coaching journey.
How do your workbooks, journal prompts, and guides support or enhance your one-on-one coaching?
Each of The Balanced Bureau workbooks is specifically crafted by an experience. Each is a process that I have personally walked through and woven with therapeutic practices. The workbooks are applicable to specific concerns and hardships, from overthinking to overcoming, from time “management” to intention and goal setting. Typically, after a 1:1 session, I like to prescribe my client with a workbook to carry them through what we’ve discussed. It’s not work, it’s practice.
