Brainz Interview With Ilaria Storch, Life Coach

Who is Ilaria and can you tell us a little about your creative background?

A nomad heart was in the making when I sat and looked outside my window, longing to visit new places, during my teen years. My family´s background is Italian, I was born in South America, where I currently live with my family and pets, and we attended an international British School when it was not at all usual to do so. That was very positive in every way, for even if we did not have the resources to travel then, the world came to us, through education, great teachers, and amazing friends. The desire to travel and go nomad came from very early – as well as setting up roots – this is me, embracing the ideas and people around me, Leo style.

A Curious Story on Changing Your Mind

Growing up, we talked a lot at home about fashion, design, and architecture – those were the family´s areas of expertise. I focused on drawing and writing and won awards in those areas. It is important to be an independent thinker, and I knew I was good with people, creativity and speaking different languages. Architecture was something I considered doing for a long time, until…

Until one day, my dad was driving me somewhere, and we passed in front of this interesting building, only two or three stories high, quite like an old factory, with these blue shutter windows. In front, it said “Advertising University” in a very big, yet understated way. I jumped in the car seat and said aloud: this is it! I want to work with people and understand how they get motivated to do things!

Way back then, I already loved that it was not one of those gigantic, anonymous, corporate high-rises buildings, full of window glasses – which keep people quite distant from the city, the walk side and general healthy interaction with other humans. I do recognize though the interesting constructions, it is a big part of my previous fashion and design DNA.

As a life coach, I see the richness of accessing your intuition and hidden dreams and using planning and structure to get them active and alive – your next step is truly in awareness, in looking and seeing the opportunities that are around you, strengthening your confidence and having courage to own your decisions.

You talk about integrating worlds, give us some tips, please.

One of the biggest challenges I feel is how to integrate all our worlds, like family, relationships, business, pets, aging parents, self-care, time to create before you launch your ideas, and still have energy for more. There is no way we can do it all alone, we must ask for help, postpone some things, get better at having good conversations, drop what doesn't work and keep what is aligned to you. Below, a mini guideline to help your mind accept and mix structure and flow, creativity, and business.

  • Each person is a world of their own

  • We are all also connected

  • You can apply creativity with raising your family

  • And find creativity in time alone

  • Block, go somewhere, find your creative time

  • Create structure around you

  • A lovely structure is a container for you to expand

  • To build your business, invest in personal growth, serve clients

  • Change your current structure, or create a new one

  • Challenges are gifts

  • These gifts come alive and grow to nurture you

  • Your life is about you

  • And it is not only about you

What is it that you do for your clients?

The top thing I do is to help my clients get unstuck and grow, wherever they are, and to feel at home with their decisions, wherever they are!

Doubt and indecision are great blocks to fulfillment and creativity, and nobody gets unstuck by themselves - during life we get many periods where we need to just take new action towards new goals – and getting someone to support you along the way, to hold a space for you to talk safely, and a lot, is game-changing!

I say it also takes a village to become a thriving adult, to work on your feelings and goals, so it is important you surround yourself with people that you can relate to and that truly want to help and understand you – it takes trying until you find true connection and feel excited about your change.

How does Life Coach Nomads Inspire people?

Life Coach Nomads was born out of huge inspiration – there is a lovely story on the site! Also, as I got to travel later in life, I had this big imagination of the places I wanted to go, how I would dress and who I would be then, even before there was any travel insight! I am very grateful for having seen countries from South America, like Brazil and Argentina to Uruguay, from Mexico to Canada, from Japan to Israel, from Europe to the United States – there is so much more to see, it is amazing how big our world is.

People have similar desires and needs anywhere, and this is something I love helping people with, through my programs, inspiring them to find where they want to be and feel at home wherever they are, and take action to get there.

We are nomadic by nature – life is set up this way, change comes our way naturally, we grow from kids to teens, to adults, with all that each phases imply – and then we stop dreaming or enmesh our desires with that of others near us, even out of love, and we stop planning change and deciding on what would truly make us happy and shine again.

Sometimes it calls for big actions, other times just having someone to talk to and help you set a new daily routine that will match your new you – setting better boundaries and being heard, in some cases, for the first time.

Our clients can feel the support because I have done the nomadic changes in my life and myself – you want to keep up with who you want to be, accomplish and face challenges with tools and guidance that understands you. When you start by learning to value who you are now, you can move ahead with more determination and confidence.

Who should hire/work with you?

My clients include women and men, who are yearning for immediate support and change in their lives, whether they are digital nomads, or not, and for people who want to reconnect to their roots and enhance what they have achieved.

You will find our programs are very specific to each client´s needs, from those who want to find more purpose and understanding, retrieve their goals and dreams, to high-end entrepreneurs who want to get centered again, get perspective of what else is possible, wherever they are, geographically, and where they find themselves in their life journey.

I help you choose one area to start with and from there I like to work organically combined with personalized strategies.

What is your big goal? Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

It will be lovely to see Life Coach Nomads grow and be the place for people to find inspiration and positivity, to help them reach their goals and travel, plus hosting, in person, small and intimate events, where one can share our stories, dreams, and adventures.

Creating an intentional routine that is meaningful and with dabs of fun, is the true first step to any big or small goal!

My system is asking what my big goal is today, by itself, not immediately linked to the big picture, this will become clear as we go along.

I love mixing the expected and the unexpected, taking inspired action combined with setting goals.

Life Coach Nomads and our Programs are meant to get you started now, once you take the decision, in a very personal, organic, and effective way. We work with starting to be grateful for the place you are right now, and then building your mindset and strategy towards your goals.

And please, let us have fun too, along the way!
