Who is Lisa Tibando?
Lisa Tibando has devoted nearly 30 years to the healing arts, specializing in guiding others through empowered self-care and personal transformation by blending ancient wisdom with modern science. Her practice blends deep spiritual insight with a highly educated foundation in anatomy and physiology, reflecting an unwavering commitment to holistic health.
An RMT registered in both Ontario and Manitoba, as well as a Certified Bioenergetics Facilitator from The Mortar Institute, Lisa uses her extensive training to tune into clients' nervous systems, identify areas of constriction and pain, facilitating the release of these tension stress blockages. Her education provided a solid foundation in anatomy and physiology, which she has since combined with intuitive gifts to create a unique approach to wellness. Her empathic, intuitive sessions are designed to restore homeostasis and promote overall well-being.
Lisa's journey into the healing arts began with a passion for understanding the human body and spirit. This passion arose from going through her own struggles of multiple traumas starting early on in childhood. Lisa was adopted at birth to a wonderful mother who died from Juvenile diabetes when Lisa was 12 years old. This major loss sent Lisa in a downward spiral of self-destruction and self-sabotage for decades. Lisa hit many rock bottoms in her adolescence, her teens, her twenties and even early thirties. But there was something inside her that wouldn't give up. She continued to seek hope, understanding, and meaning from all the emotional, mental, and even physical pain. Her pain sent her on a journey of desire to understand the human mind, body, and spirit in a way that could help her process her own experience and eventually find a path of service. She needed to turn her pain into a purpose “for good.”
On her own journey of healing, Lisa discovered knowledge of her powerful subconscious through meditation and trauma therapy. She found parts of herself that she could tend to and get to know in a curious, intimate way. She discovered new roots within herself. New seeds of healing were planted and birthed from this was a new truth that true healing involves incorporating all parts of self to integrate into wholeness. Lisa’s journey of transformative healing began, which then led her to her passion to help others. She went back to school in her late 30s and found a path to facilitate healing for others. Through her career as an RMT, she then evolved in her journey, discovering that healing pain in the body requires more than just addressing physical symptoms. Lisa has been helping others for over a decade in her practice of holistic wellness and healing.
As an RMT and Bioenergetic Facilitator, her practice embraces a holistic approach that considers physical, emotional, mental, and energetic aspects. Personalized sessions incorporate breathwork, embodiment techniques, and bioenergetics to release energy blockages and promote healing on all levels. By reconnecting consciousness with the body, she helps clients raise their vibrational frequency, leading to physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Her approach is deeply empathetic and intuitive. Working closely with each client, she creates a tailored healing experience that honors their unique needs and rhythm of healing.
Lisa has helped numerous clients become empowered to reclaim their health and happiness. Her passion for holistic wellness and commitment to personal growth make her a trusted guide for those on the path to self-care, holistic wellness, and healing. In every session, clients experience not only relief from ailments but also discover a deeper connection to themselves and their bodies.
By blending ancient wisdom with modern science, Lisa offers a powerful approach to holistic healing, supporting clients in living balanced, vibrant lives. Whether through individual sessions or educational workshops, she continues to share knowledge and skills, helping others navigate their journey toward holistic health and spiritual awakening.
What made you specialise in the area you’re now an expert in?
My own journey of healing and discovery led me to my truth and specialty. I specialize as an advocate for self-love and self-care because that is what has transformed my life. My experience has provided me with a compassionate, empathetic heart, mind, and soul that can hold space for others to do the work required to find empowerment and heal.
How would you describe your core service in one sentence?
I provide a safe space to do the hard work of reconnecting mind, body and spirit, bringing evolving awareness that we are our own healers.
Who is your ideal client, and how do you know when someone is ready to work with you?
My ideal client is anyone willing to commit to some level of the healing journey, and it is a journey – a continuous unfolding of the next level. I know someone is ready when they show up, as well as take time in their daily lives to implement new healthy self-care habits.
What’s the biggest challenge your clients bring to you, and you help them overcome?
The biggest challenge is overcoming the human condition to put things off and prioritize other things over self-care. The challenge is dissolving the belief systems people have bought into that don't serve them.
How does your approach differ from others in your field?
My approach differs because that's the feedback I get on a regular basis from clients. I often hear people say, “I've never had a massage like that before. What was that?” I think the major difference is that I have developed an ability to completely let go of myself and empty my being to be a vessel of help for another. As well, with my approach, treatment and service don't end when the massage is over. I tailor each treatment to come with individualized home care/self-care and require a commitment of my clients to do their homework because my treatments are a team effort. I am available to my clients even when not in the treatment room. I keep my clients accountable to their healing journey and provide a commitment to be available outside of the office for clients with extended needs.
Can you share a quick example of a transformation one of your clients has experienced?
There are so many, which I am always honoured to experience. Recently, a client wrote to me to say, “It's because of you, Lisa, that I am changing for the better in my life in general. It's because of you, Lisa. I’m learning this new journey of taking care of me, loving myself, and being grateful for who I am. I can be present and notice when I need to stop and simply breathe.”
What’s one common misconception potential clients have about your work?
The common misconception, which still baffles me, is that so many people still think massage is simply a day to treat yourself to pampering a few times a year. It's called massage therapy for a reason. It's therapy for your muscles and then your whole being of mind, body, spirit. It's a practice and a commitment to self-care that's necessary to live an abundant, pain-free, empowered life. One tool of many, but it is a tool for healing.
What is the first step someone should take if they want to work with you?
Simply book an appointment and have a commitment set in mind that they will do this therapeutic work regularly on a set schedule. I don’t like to waste my time and money, so I also don't want anyone else to waste their time and money. A one-and-done is not how this works. It's a commitment. Even one session every two months is only six massage therapy sessions a year. Once a month is ideal. It's not a lot when we consider what we deal with on a regular basis in life, with daily stressors of many kinds.
How do you measure success with your clients?
I see it. They describe it. Everybody is different, so everybody is different. We all have our path, and clients tell me their successes. Every win, small or big, is a win of the same.
What do you want clients to feel or achieve after working with you?
I simply hope for them to have a new experience – a new experience of their body, how it feels in it, and a new experience of their mind, thoughts, feelings, emotions.
How can someone get in touch or start the journey with you right now?
Simply reach out through my multiple platforms to book in-person or online Zoom sessions. I'm here to help and serve. Or email me here.
