Kiwana Hall, Life & Mindset Coach

Please tell us a little about yourself so we can get to know you better.

Sure. I'm a wife and mother of two who recently relocated from Maryland to Atlanta. I love hanging out with my family, trying out new restaurants and events, and taking a relaxing beach vacation as often as possible—which isn't nearly as frequent as I'd like!

After over 15 years in corporate, I left to pursue a more fulfilling career path. Today, I am a certified life and mindset coach and founder of My Purpose Project, where I spend my days helping women in leadership discover their passions and live more intentionally. It's been quite a journey, but I'm enjoying it.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

It was more of a series of moments spanning a few years that were pivotal to where I am today. It started after receiving my second major job promotion into a leadership role and then the third. While the initial excitement and feelings of accomplishment were rewarding, they were also fleeting. Yes, I was earning more money and status, but I was also constantly overextended, stressed, and anxious. I admittedly was not taking very good care of myself or giving my family the time and attention I should have, there was never enough time in the day.

On top of all that, nothing fulfilled me in the work that I was doing day in and day out. This was in stark contrast to what I expected to be feeling and experiencing because, for most of my life, I believed that the goal was to secure a stable career, climb the corporate ladder, and retire at 65 with a cushy savings and 401k plan and that this was somehow the magic success formula.

However, with each new role, I grew more discontented. Ultimately, I realized that my ideal career would allow me to serve others without sacrificing my priorities or peace of mind. It had become clear that until I could find that path, I would likely never feel settled or satisfied in any position I found myself in. That was a significant turning point for me.

What inspired you to create My Purpose Project, and what is your future mission or goal?

My Purpose Project was inspired by my desire to be for other women, what I wish I had while navigating major changes and transitions in my life. As a woman in leadership, it's easy to get caught up in pouring into everyone else while neglecting ourselves. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for open, honest dialogue, self-reflection, and action-taking so that my clients can become more intentional about prioritizing their own needs.

Our mission is to empower female leaders to discover their true purpose, unlock their potential, and create balanced, meaningful lives through personalized coaching, guidance, support, and strategies that enable them to embrace their passions, lead with more empathy, and achieve fulfillment in all aspects of life while making an impact.

What kind of audience do you currently target your business to?

Currently, I work with women in leadership who are experiencing burnout, lack of fulfillment, stagnation, or who need a change in their lives, be it personally or professionally, but may be unclear on a path forward or struggle with making themselves a priority and need the extra support of an accountability partner to do so.

What sets My Purpose Project apart from other life coaching services? What unique value do you believe you bring to your clients?

Our primary focus is on the self-care and well-being of female leaders. We experience so many unique challenges and often carry the weight of the world on our shoulders without ever acknowledging when it's gotten too heavy, that we're unhappy, or that we have outgrown a particular season in our lives.

My Purpose Project provides the space and support for clients to recalibrate and gain the clarity and insight needed to make necessary changes that align their lives with what they genuinely value and give them a sense of purpose.

What do you find most rewarding about being a life and mindset coach?

There are so many rewarding aspects, but if I had to pick one, I'd say it's the genuine, authentic way that my clients and I communicate and relate with each other, where they're able to be seen and heard without feeling judged or the need to filter themselves.

To create meaningful changes in our lives, we must be willing to go beyond the surface conversations and be open to constructive feedback and unique perspectives. It's been very fulfilling for me, and I'm grateful to share these experiences with the women I work with.
