Can you hear your soul calling to you? In a world filled with distractions, our soul's voice often gets ignored and dismissed. This manifests as what I call soul sickness. It takes great courage to welcome the darkness and let it bring you to your knees. Life has taught me that this is where grace enters.

Dramatic sunset sky with dark and golden clouds, sunbeams piercing through, creating a warm, moody atmosphere.

My journey towards healing my soul has had many twists and turns, and ups and downs. I have learned that the darkest moments are when the most light wants to shine through. The bigger the crisis, the greater the calling. When a client comes to me in deep distress, unable to see clearly, I now sense that there is immense light sitting with us. Unseen, and often unrecognized, but present. So bright we cannot see it. If listened to, it emerges as insight and wisdom we did not know we had, as well as courage, helping us find our voice, power, and deep strength. But mostly, it emerges as stillness.

I did not always believe that the darkness should be honored and allowed in. I have learned, though, that fear grows when it is tucked away, ignored, and told that it is not worthy of attention. This is how we get sick. Soulfully sick.

What if fear is an ally in disguise, a great teacher? It does not get to be center stage all the time, but it is part of the cast. Have you ever had a night or daydream where you are running from someone or something? What if you turned to face it? What if what you are running from has a message for you? I invite you to listen to fear. Converse with it like you would a good friend, and just see what happens.

Resistance does not work anyway. So, what if we try allowing? I am not saying do not have boundaries. We need boundaries with the darkness, just as we do with people. What I am saying is, learn to listen. That which is haunting you is reflecting you.

What form does your fear take? Does your fear appear as a manipulative person masking as a savior? Or does it manifest as illness, anxiety, or paralyzing fatigue? It could take the symbolic form of betrayal, abandonment, persistent beliefs of unworthiness, recurring nightmares, or profound loneliness. Sometimes fear even disguises itself as a great fantasy for what could have been or could be, but definitely is not now.

I invite you to listen to the manifestation of your personal fear. What is it trying to teach you about yourself? Maybe the louder it is, the more we need to listen. What if suffering is grace itself, carrying the wisdom and presence we seek? So, I invite you to dance with fear.

I have deep respect for those who venture onto a healing path, or accept that this is where life has taken them. I often hear from clients that they feel weak due to needing therapy and support. I share with them the same message that was told to me in my darkest times, that we all need support. We all need the attention and guidance of those who are walking ahead of us, but who once were where we are now. Can you feel the grace in that? Sometimes I feel like the darkness is wise.

I am sharing my contemplations with you because I feel that now more than ever, the world needs more light. What if we each clean up our internal space by deepening our relationship with our fear so that we can start living in right relationship with ourselves and with life? The distractions will always be there, and we are running out of time.

The world needs your genius, and your soul is longing for you to listen.
