Dr. Joy Green, Accountability Goal Achievement Coach

Who is Dr. Joy Green

I’m Dr. Joy Green, your go-to Accountability Goal Achievement Coach, Author, Speaker, and Woman to Watch in 2024, based in the heart of Washington, DC. At 30 years young, I've made it my life's mission to bring light, positivity, and a whole lot of joy to the world.

Education-wise, I've got the triple threat: a Bachelor's in Management with a focus on Human Resources from Winston Salem State University, a Master's in Business Administration from the University of District of Columbia, and a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University. But life isn't just about degrees—it's about living, thriving, and helping others do the same.

When I'm not immersed in academia or working, you'll find me embracing my inner thrill-seeker as a roller coaster fanatic at amusement parks. Art museums are my sanctuary, and art workshops allow me to unleash my creativity and make things with my hands. Music festivals, new restaurants, and exploring new destinations are my go-to ways to recharge. Traveling is my passion. In the quieter moments, you'll catch me diving into self-help books, constantly seeking inspiration to fuel both my personal and professional growth.

What is your business name and how do you help your clients?

Named after my guided journal, Goal Get’em Girls!, is a business for consistently conveying the message that anything is possible for women, regardless of the challenges they may face. Through a diverse array of channels—speaking engagements, social media, journals, workshops, and events – I strive to emphasize that every woman out there, no matter where she is in life, knows she's got this inner power to turn dreams into reality. The title, "Goal Get’em Girls!", is not merely a phrase; it's a motivational chant designed to embolden women along their goal journey. I’m deeply invested in cheering on women to become the individuals they've always dreamed of being. With the resounding call of "Goal Get’em Girls!", I’m telling women to go after their goals like they're on a mission, armed with self-belief and a rock-solid plan. Barriers? Pfft, those can be smashed into a million pieces with the right mindset and strategy. The world is your oyster, and goals are just waiting to be owned.

My calling as an Accountability Goal Achievement Coach is to be the guiding light for women navigating the twists and turns of goal attainment. As an Accountability Goal Achievement Coach, I specialize in working with women who are ready to embark on a transformative journey toward achieving their goals. I understand that every woman is unique, with distinct aspirations, challenges, and dreams. Whether you're navigating leadership challenges, seeking personal growth, or striving for a more fulfilling life, I'm here for you. We will not only conquer external objectives but also cultivate a mindset of resilience, grace, and unwavering faith in your unique abilities. My coaching is crafted to meet you where you are and guide you toward where you want to be.

As the author of "Goal Get'em Girls," what inspired you to write it?

Well, it all started with my Doctorate Research Project (DRP) titled “THE IMPACT ON HOSPITALITY INDUSTRIES ORGANIZATION PERFORMANCE FROM THE LACK OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN IN EXECUTIVE.” Quite a mouthful, right? But it's more than just words – it's a revelation. During my DRP, I had some eye-opening conversations with amazing women. A powerful realization emerged: the key to resilience lies in unshakeable self-confidence. I learned that when one is confident in their identity, external opinions and behaviors lose their power to affect personal worth. This insight underscored the importance of embracing discomfort, as self-trust and an understanding of one's capabilities are essential on the path to success.

Fueled by the lessons from my DRP, I didn't stop at just research. I went on to create "Goal Get’em Girls!”. It's a powerhouse, a game-changer, designed to empower women to chase their goals like there's no tomorrow and bulldoze through any obstacles blocking their way. Goal Get’em Girls! is a guided journal that exposes some of the innumerable barriers that may hold women back from achieving their goals, while the guide explains some tips on how they can push through the barriers. The end result is from self-discovery through self-reflection, women are empowered and inspired to make their goals a reality. I’m on a mission to sprinkle the wisdom I gathered and be the wind beneath women's wings. I am lighting the fire under women to own their confidence, trust their abilities, and show challenges who is boss as they march towards personal and professional success.

Can you share a specific chapter or concept from your book that you find particularly impactful in helping women achieve their goals?

Chapter 7, "You Don't Assess Your Mistakes," is a game-changer when it comes to helping women nail their goals. Let me tell you why it's so impactful.

This chapter is like your guide to understanding that making mistakes is just a part of the whole goal-getting journey. Because here's the deal: if we don't take a good, hard look at our slip-ups, we're basically running blind. It's like trying to solve a puzzle without knowing which pieces are missing.

So, the key takeaway here is simple but powerful: if you're not assessing your mistakes, you're kind of setting yourself up for a repeat performance of the same hurdles. Think about it – if you're facing the same roadblock over and over, it's like hitting the same pothole on the road. Ouch, right? That's where assessing your mistakes comes in. It's your secret weapon to figure out what went wrong, what needs a tweak, and how to dodge that pothole next time around.

Here's the golden nugget: Assess those mistakes, learn, improve, and come back stronger. When you can spot where things went off the rails, you're not just learning, you're evolving.

Your coaching philosophy centers around "Elevating Personal Goals, Igniting Leadership Potential, and Fostering Professional Growth." How did you develop this approach, and what makes it effective for women pursuing personal and leadership development goals?

So, here's the inside scoop on where my philosophy comes from – my own journey. I've been down the winding roads of personal goals and leadership development, and let me tell you, it's been one heck of a ride.

Now my philosophy, it's the essence of what I bring to the table. The commitment embedded in my philosophy is straightforward: I'm here to empower you holistically. It's not just about enhancing personal skills or climbing the leadership ladder—it's about both, simultaneously. Because I genuinely believe that as a woman, you can thrive in every domain of your life, and I'm all in to help you achieve that harmonious balance.

The effectiveness lies in the synergy of these elements. Elevating personal goals provides a solid foundation, igniting leadership potential propels you forward, and fostering professional growth ensures a continuous upward trajectory. It's a comprehensive approach that acknowledges the multifaceted nature of your journey.

In your coaching practice, what role does the concept of transformative change play, and how do you guide women through this process?

In my coaching practice, transformative change isn't just a concept; it's the beating heart of the journey I embark on with every woman I work with. It's the force that propels us forward, igniting a shift in mindset, habits, and perspectives that goes beyond the goal achievement.

The journey toward transformative change involves a series of intentional steps. We start by breaking down barriers—those internal and external obstacles that might stand in the way. Whether it's self-doubt, fear, or societal expectations, we address and overcome these hurdles together. Resilience becomes a key companion on this journey. I empower women to bounce back from setbacks, view challenges as opportunities for growth, and cultivate a mindset that thrives in the face of adversity. Through this resilience-building process, transformative change begins to take root. Unleashing their full potential is the ultimate goal. It's about tapping into strengths, passions, and capacities that may have been overlooked or underestimated. We work to uncover the layers, allowing women to step into their authenticity and power.
