Tyler Begg
Neuro-Somatic Intelligence Practitioner
Tyler has a practical and versatile approach that embraces a myriad of challenges and prioritizes the individual over a general one-size-fits-all perspective. He offers therapeutic Parts-work techniques, nervous system regulation, somatic emotional processing and trauma-informed coaching. These modalities are informed by a background in counseling and Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry approach to understanding the roots of trauma. By providing this assortment of tools Tyler helps his clients to achieve their own version of what health and performance looks like.
Tyler understands that physical movement, emotional processing and intellectual insight are inexorably tied together by the nervous system. Many of us know intuitively, for example that our stress is impacting our physical body and vice versa. By re-patterning the nervous system it is possible to change how we relate to stress and remove the need to rely on our old coping mechanisms.
Neuro-Somatic Intelligence is a practical, non-medical, non-pathologizing modality that blends applied neurology and evidence-based psychology to offer simple but potent tools that can be used in everyday life to create resilience and change. It does not require anyone to relive their past, but for those who wish to process past events these tools can offer the emotional regulation needed to do so safely. Despite these science and research-based techniques, Tyler does not disregard the intuition of his clients but instead makes it a guiding part of the process.
One way he does this on a conscious, cognitive level is through Parts-work. Popularized by Richard Schwartz, this system makes use of our natural ability to personify parts of our psyche in order to dialogue with them and find internal resolution with those aspects of ourselves that are in conflict.
Tyler is always engaging with is own personal work. He benefits from the modalities he practices and is in constant pursuit of learning and expanding his toolkit. In addition to supporting others these endeavors have served to help him recover from his own trials with emotional processing and repression, addiction, sexual shame and constant self-judgment. He is familiar with plant medicine work and psychedelic preparation and integration, and is also working to decolonize his mind to become a better healer and ally to others.
