Regenerative Orthopaedic Surgeon

Professor Paul Lee (MBBCh, MFSEM(UK), MSc, PhD, FEBOT, FRCS (T&O)) is a Harley Street Regenerative Orthopaedic Surgeon, Cartilage & Joint Preservation Specialist, and founder of the London Cartilage Clinic. His work is centred on helping patients understand what may still be preserved, repaired, or regenerated before joint replacement becomes the default.

The London Cartilage Clinic is a specialist centre for cartilage regeneration, meniscus and ACL repair, and advanced joint-preserving treatments. He has been recognised as an ICRS Teaching Centre of Excellence for cartilage and joint preservation surgery for over 10 years, reflecting sustained specialist leadership in this field.

Professor Lee combines surgery, science, and engineering to make regeneration more practical, credible, and clinically usable. His clinical work in joint preservation and before-replacement decision-making has also shaped his wider regeneration philosophy and the development of Regen PhD, a broader systems-based platform focused on optimisation, recovery, and regeneration. He has also treated elite and professional athletes, including Premiership
footballers, bringing high-performance decision-making into his wider work.

He is an Honorary Professor of Sports Medicine at the University of Lincoln, has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, and has secured more than £1.3 million in research funding. He is editor of Springer’s Musculoskeletal Regeneration Medicine and author of the international Amazon #1 bestsellers Regeneration by Design and Practical Regeneration. He was also recently recognised with a 20-year NHS long service award, reflecting two decades of contribution to clinical care, orthopaedic practice, and musculoskeletal innovation.
