Nelson Barrios is an education entrepreneur, multilingual educator, and the founder and CEO of Edukko — a Dubai-based EdTech platform transforming how students, families, and adult learners access world-class academic support. Since launching in 2021, Edukko has delivered over 10,000 tutoring sessions and 3,000 in-home tuitions, built a hand-picked network of 700 qualified Edukkators, and actively serves learners across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia, the United States, Iraq, Sweden, France, and Spain.

Before founding Edukko, Nelson taught across Spain, the United States, and the United Kingdom — in both public and private education systems — building a practitioner’s understanding of how students actually learn and what it takes to bring them back when they fall behind. Fluent in English, French, Spanish, Catalan, and Italian, his multicultural fluency is embedded in the DNA of everything Edukko delivers. 

He holds a BA in French, Spanish and Communication, a PGCE in Modern Languages awarded under the UK Ministry of Education, England, and is formally IB-trained across both the MYP and Diploma Programme — credentials that place him among an elite tier of internationally qualified educators. 

Edukko supports learners at every stage: personalised tutoring and mentorship, exam preparation across IB, GCSE, A-Level, American, and French national curricula, specialist university-level academic support, and language and professional development for adult learners. Every session — online or in-home — is built around one principle: adapt to the learner, not the other way around. Now expanding into after-school programmes, student workshops, and new digital platforms, Nelson is pioneering AI tools that free teachers, empower parents, and put students in control of their own learning journey.
