Michelle Clarke

Global Leadership Coach & Facilitator

Michelle Clarke is a Global Leadership Coach, Facilitator, and Applied Improvisation Practitioner with more than two decades of international experience designing and hosting learning experiences for leaders, coaches, facilitators, and institutions working in complex and evolving environments.

Originally from South Africa and now based internationally, Michelle has lived and worked across multiple countries and cultural contexts. Her work spans leadership development, executive coaching, group facilitation, coach education, Improve training, and applied improvisation, with a strong emphasis on experiential learning and reflective practice rather than content-heavy or prescriptive approaches.

Michelle is known for helping individuals and groups develop inner authority, confident judgment, and the ability to think well in uncertainty. She works as a thinking partner rather than an expert, creating conditions where people ask themselves better questions, experiment with how they show up, and strengthen their capacity to lead themselves and others. Her work is described as fun, grounding, clarifying, and quietly transformative.

Her professional portfolio includes facilitating peer learning forums for senior Coaches and HR professionals, training and assessing future coaches through a university-accredited coach training programme, and delivering leadership, agility, and applied improvisation experiences internationally. She has worked extensively in virtual and hybrid environments and regularly supports leaders operating across time zones and global systems.

Michelle holds international PCC Coaching Credentials, is a Certified Agile Coach and Trainer, and is certified as an Advanced Applied Improv Facilitator. She has also worked within AI-enabled coaching environments, supporting hybrid human-AI development models and exploring how technology can enhance learning without diminishing human agency or relational intelligence.

At the heart of Michelle’s work is a belief that sustainable leadership and team development must honor mental, emotional, physical, and energetic well-being, and that the most meaningful growth occurs when people and groups remember they already have the capacity to think, choose, and act wisely.
