Lauren Seeley

Grief & Death Doula, Educator, Artist

Lauren Seeley has an extensive and eclectic background in the death and grief space. As an artist and designer, she has a creative vision for memorialization and storytelling in funeral practice. She has worked in aftercare for pets as a logistics liaison, grief specialist, and observer of alkaline hydrolysis vessel operation. She has worked in a modern funeral home as a funeral directors assistant, memorial and funeral curator, and afterc assistant. Her passion is not only in personalization in memorial and funeral, but also in the tender times of grief while working with a family. She is the facilitator of two monthly mortality based book clubs, where attendees can come together to speak openly about death and mortality, as well as have conversations with authors in grief and death. You can find those discussions on her YouTube channel. She's hosted many talks on death, grief, and loss with musicians, artists, photographers, authors, directors, and more. Her focus is on building community through shared spaces and discussions and finding creative ways to honor grief and loss. She is currently teaching with LaMort Collective and as a guest teacher with schools internationally not virtually and in person, with current partners with Morbid Anatomy & The Metropolitan Museum Of Art.
