Performance Coach

Jon Addison is a dedicated Performance Coach, Surf and Snowboard Instructor, and former Snowboard Athlete with a mission to enable the long-term success of ocean and mountain sports athletes and enthusiasts. As the founder of Mtnwave Fitness, Jon blends his expertise in fitness, rehabilitation, skill development, and sport-specific training to empower riders to overcome barriers, build resilience, and achieve peak performance.

With his experience in both technique and performance coaching, Jon has unique insight into how an athlete's physical abilities directly impact their capabilities in the field. Having personally recovered from numerous injuries, Jon has developed a profound understanding of what it takes to overcome psychological factors in sport such as fear and anxiety, and how to rebuild one’s athleticism to ensure success and longevity in the game.

Motivated by his injuries, Jon embarked on a quest to discover proven and sustainable training solutions to facilitate recovery, build resilience, and optimize performance. This ultimately led to the creation of Mtnwave Fitness (Mountain-Wave-Fitness), an app-based training and community-focused online platform that delivers transformative results to those seeking to level up their abilities in surf and snow sports.

Fitness preparation for sports has become a common practice, inspiring enthusiasts who might not otherwise frequent the gym to train more consistently, and coaches like Jon have made training, once reserved for professional athletes, accessible to all. Through this, Jon aims to level the playing field, providing everyday athletes with the same high-performance tools as the pros. Accompanying this, Jon also aims to make surf and snow expeditions and adventures accessible to everyday riders. This brought his new signature Adventure Coaching Tours to life, where Jon helps participants get physically and mentally ready for the trip of a lifetime with tailored fitness plans. He then teams up with other coaches and/or local guides to support small groups of board-sports enthusiasts on immersive trips to tropical breaks and off-piste alpine destinations. These trips allow riders to work closely on improving their physical capabilities along with their riding skills which Jon has found to be the best combination for personal progression, and all of this happens as part of an unforgettable adventure.

Jon is on a mission to build a global community where athletes of all ages and abilities confidently pursue growth, push their boundaries, and cultivate a lifelong connection to surf and snow sports. Whether online or in person, he is committed—through Mtnwave Fitness—to helping every rider maximize their time in the ocean and on the mountain.
