Jo Ibbott

Executive Menopause Coach

Jo Ibbott is a leading expert on perimenopause and menopause, particularly its impact on women and the workplace. She is passionate about ensuring everyone understands perimenopause and menopause, so that women are not undermined and workplaces do not lose valuable talent. Jo's driving force is to demystify and debunk menopause myths, challenging the taboos around this important life stage and bringing it into the open.

As an Executive Coach, Jo's specialisation in this area grew from observing recurring themes among her mid-life clients: loss of confidence, lack of joy, overwhelm, anxiety, and low mood. These were high-achieving women, at the peak of their careers, who were suddenly questioning their capabilities. Reflecting on her own mid-life experience, Jo recognised the significant impact of perimenopause's psychological symptoms. She had, for the first time, considered antidepressants and experienced a marked decline in her motivation for both life and work. Connecting these dots, Jo realised that perimenopause was robbing these women of their sense of self and jeopardising their careers. She resolved to take action.

In 2020, Jo trained as an Executive Menopause Coach. She began working with organisations and individual women, providing education, coaching and practical solutions to navigate the unique challenges of perimenopause. Simultaneously, she founded the What the Fog? Facebook Community, a safe space for women to ask questions, find support and access reliable, evidence-based information.

Jo is known for her dedication to normalising the conversation, empowering women and enabling organisations to foster cultural change and engage in courageous conversations about perimenopause and menopause. Through her training, coaching, and advocacy, she equips women with the understanding that it's not them, it's perimenopause and there are things they can do that will help. She also guides organisations in building inclusive, compassionate, and equitable cultures.
