Christen Bryce, RN, PMH-BC, MS
Psychiatric Registered Nurse, Advocate & Author
Christen is a board-certified psychiatric registered nurse, advocate, blogger, author, and founder of The Crisis Nurse mission. Most importantly, she is a devoted Catholic and proud mother of two daughters. Committed to reshaping mental health care, she focuses on education, early intervention, and faith-based guidance.
With 13 years of experience, Christen has worked across nearly every sector of behavioral, psychiatric, and addictions nursing. Her expertise spans inpatient care, Crisis ER, ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) community mental health, rehabilitation, detox, and dual diagnosis treatment. She has also served in corrections nursing, telehealth behavioral coaching, and as a supervisor in an outpatient pediatric clinic. Her clinical work has allowed her to support patients of all ages, from young children to the geriatric population. She originally began her nursing career in cardiac telemetry before returning to serve the population she feels called to help.
Witnessing the impact of early intervention, Christen developed the 6-Step CRISIS Plan, an individualized yet structured framework empowering individuals to manage their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being before hospitalization becomes necessary. This method incorporates elements of the evidence-based nursing process, reinforcing effective assessment and evaluation strategies.
Rooted in her Catholic faith, Christen blends professional expertise with holistic wellness, providing compassionate support to those seeking proactive care. Through her writing, she delivers meaningful insights on mental health, faith, and resilience, equipping others with practical tools to bridge the gap between self-care and professional intervention.
As a passionate advocate for preventative mental health, Christen is expanding her reach through public speaking, offering actionable guidance to strengthen emotional well-being, deepen faith, and encourage proactive self-care. Her mission is to inspire individuals to take charge of their mental health journey while fostering a culture of informed, faith-centered wellness.
Through mentorship, education, and collaboration, Christen continues to equip individuals with the tools to navigate life’s challenges with confidence—ensuring that mental health care is approached proactively rather than reactively.
Recognized by Today's Nurse as a Top Nurse of 2025, Christen is set to release her first solo-authored book, PIVOT, in May 2025.
