Aziza Sobh

Registered Psychotherapist

Aziza's initial career path was rooted in a desire to pursue medicine. However, it took just one introductory psychology course to spark a transformative shift in her aspirations. Like many therapists, Aziza’s personal experiences and challenges played a pivotal role in shaping her path toward becoming a psychotherapist.

Over the years, Aziza has cultivated a diverse range of experiences across long-term care homes, the sports and medical fields, and private practice. These experiences have shaped her therapeutic style, one that emphasizes a holistic, mind-body approach. Her academic background in both Kinesiology and Psychology laid a strong foundation for her belief that true well-being requires addressing the individual as a whole, mind, body, and emotional self.

Driven by a desire to deepen her impact, Aziza plans to pursue a Doctorate with the aim of contributing to research and raising awareness around the long-term effects of unresolved mental health issues and emotional repression on physical health, with a particular focus on women’s health. This passion stems in part from her personal journey following a diagnosis of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), where she was initially offered medication as the sole treatment. Through her own therapy and professional development, Aziza came to recognize the psychological dimensions of PCOS, often overlooked due to the condition’s over-medicalization. Since then, she has made it her mission to explore and highlight the psychological underpinnings of physical illness and chronic conditions, advocating for more integrative and compassionate approaches to health and healing.

Outside of her professional work, Aziza makes it a priority to practice the self-care principles she encourages in her clients. She enjoys spending quality time with her cat and dog, staying active through activities such as hiking, going to the gym, and attending fitness classes like spin and yoga. Aziza also finds balance and inspiration through reading, with an interest in both fiction and non-fiction literature.
