Abi Hill is not only the Founder and CEO of Just Starting Out, but a trusted and determined voice within the UK business world. Rewinding a few years; she witnessed how capable businesses were missing out on opportunity because early traction was the hardest, most expensive step.
 
Then, on a freezing evening at the side of a football pitch in 2022, waiting for her daughter; she sketched the idea for a supportive two-way ecosystem where professionals can prove their value and gain basic business building blocks, and where customers can confidently give new talent a chance, as well as being able to access affordable services in a turbulent economic time.
 
Through Just Starting Out she advocates practical, actionable help: clear standards, accessible training, and partnerships that lower the real costs of getting off the ground.
 
Abi regularly mentors founders and speaks about confidence, community and ethical growth. She brings an energetic, no-nonsense style summed up by the mantra: “If you want to make waves, pack a swimsuit.” Spare time is spent collaborating with UK partners/spokespersons to open doors for under-represented entrepreneurs and to celebrate everyday success stories that show exactly what’s possible when people are given a chance.
