- Erin Taliaferro , Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Dr. Erin Attaway went to acupuncture school in 2003, way before it was cool. She opted out of medical school, graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, and moved to Austin, TX, to learn Chinese medicine. Her friends and family thought she was crazy. Her first acupuncture experience was amazing. She says, “I don’t know how to explain it, I was just a different person when I got up.” That one experience immediately changed her career trajectory, sending her to register at the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin within a few weeks. “I felt like the Universe chose me and all I had to do was show up.” She invested in Chinese medicine for help with some strange health issues. It resolved her problems without any medications or procedures and she became a true believer in the power of clean living, good diet, and physical activity. Sharing this wisdom is her passion. She concentrated on the women in her clinic and focused all of her continuing education on understanding women’s physiology, endocrinology, gynecology and fertility. The necessary ingredients for helping women heal their bodies and minds. She became a Fellow of the American Board of Reproductive Medicine in 2011. A member of the Obstetrical Acupuncture Association in 2017, and added Applied Clinical Nutritionist to her credentials in 2020. In 2023 she finished the Doctor of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine program at Pacific College of Health and Science, officially becoming Dr. Erin Attaway. Now building a personal brand online, she is using her clinical knowledge to educate women on simple strategies for healing. She is focused on the interplay between body and mind, using traditional nutrition principles as the backbone. - Maurice Smith, CTIE, Regenerative Travel & Hospitality Strategist, Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Maurice Smith, CTIE, is a hospitality strategist, writer, and advisor whose work sits at the intersection of restorative hospitality, regenerative tourism, place-based guest experience, and community stewardship. His perspective is shaped by a belief that the future of hospitality will not be defined by access, amenities, or aesthetics alone, but by meaning: how a place connects people to culture, memory, ecology, community, and a deeper sense of belonging. He is especially focused on the evolution of hospitality from polished service and beautiful design toward more responsible, emotionally resonant, and place-conscious experiences. Maurice's background includes luxury travel advisory, destination strategy, guest experience, hospitality education, business strategy, media commentary, travel writing, and public-facing thought leadership. His work has been recognized by leading travel publications and industry platforms, and his insight has been sought by national travel, business, and consumer media outlets covering travel trends, hospitality, sustainability, and evolving traveler expectations. His current work centers on the development of hospitality, education, and stewardship concepts that explore how travel and place can help restore both people and communities. His focus includes small-scale hospitality, cultural storytelling, environmental education, regenerative tourism, guest experience, community-centered learning, and restoration-centered leadership. Today, his work is shaped by a broader conviction: restoration is not only environmental or architectural, but also personal, communal, and cultural. He believes the strongest travel, hospitality, and leadership models of the next era will be those that help people and places become more grounded, resilient, responsible, and meaningfully connected.
