Do What You Love And Do It Better Than Anyone Else - Interview With Gary Vaynerchuk Do What You Love And Do It Better Than Anyone Else - Interview With Gary Vaynerchuk Sitting down with Gary Vaynerchuk is like sitting down with a friend you have not seen in years. Everything falls into place with a sweet nod to nostalgic times. The 1980s is clearly his happy place. Vaynerchuk’s brand pulls towards the brightly-hued colors of the decade and a deep appreciation of the cultural delights the ‘80s offered. His energy pulls you in close, which commits to a conversation that is unfiltered and unflappable. He gives away his heart, and his secrets to success, and wraps it up with a tightly knit bow of earth-shattering perspective. - Amanda Maitland, Registered Psychotherapist , Executive Contributor at Brainz Magazine
Hello! My name is Amanda Maitland, RP, currently dedicated to the continuous exploration of individual mental health. I am keenly curious and innately interested in exploring the big questions in life, such as “why are we the way that we are?”, “who am I?”, “why do I feel/react this way?”, and so on. With a career trajectory (finally) aligned with my passions and purpose, I feel truly honoured and trusted to be a part of so many individual healing journeys. As a Psychotherapist, my approach stems from a humanistic lens, believing each individual (including our realities and general brain development) is a result of our experiences and unique life journey. I perceive myself to be a co-pilot in the healing ‘adventure’, while we collaborate to address life challenges and work together to create positive, healthy changes. I am passionate about bringing authenticity to my sessions, with lightheartedness and humour, while encouraging individual creativity. My goal is to provide my clients with a safe and comfortable space, as I look forward to greeting each individual with openness, non-judgment, empathy and trust. To provide a brief background, I was born and raised in Toronto, earning my BA in Psychology and Business. Since then, after a whirlwind of service-industry experience, I’ve worked my way up to the operations of a major company, which was my initial goal upon graduating as to gain exposure to how large businesses “work”. Those years have blessed me with a wide range of social experiences and professional relationships, but most of all the burning desire to actually do something worthwhile in this lifetime! My passion for women empowerment was especially ignited throughout these experiences. I began my career transition to psychotherapy as I worked alongside a brilliant physician/entrepreneur, working on various healthcare consulting projects. My favourite part of this experience was leading a conference series titled “Accelerating Innovations and Investments for Rare Diseases”. Through these interactions with patients and working in the clinical atmosphere, I realized much of the human suffering I saw was psychological (rather than solely physiological), relating to the importance of mental health and wellness. This insight – that the wounds that one cannot see are just as important to remedy – has fueled my drive to follow my “calling” and make meaningful contributions to the field of Psychology. My personal time is primarily spent on self-education and feeding my curiosity for a wide range of subjects through reading and personal research. I am keenly interested in exploring the new directions being advanced in self-awareness and self-image, specifically those that stem from the research of Dr. Maxwell Maltz on Psycho-Cybernetics. When I am given the gift of free time, I love new adventures, travelling and exploring, any nature related activities, family time, cruising in the mustang, and of course relaxing with my twin kitties, Zeus and Zena.
