Blue is a chameleon of a color, morphing through hues just as we navigate the ever-changing currents of life. It seems to echo our emotional landscape, and what's even more fascinating, it can influence us as much as we influence it. Let's delve into the world of blue!

Blue abstract painting

The first thing that pops into my mind when I think of blue is my painting, "Prayers of Forgiveness." Here, blue takes center stage, representing the throat chakra the wellspring of change and forgiveness within us. It's where our voice finds its power, where truth is spoken, and where transformation unfolds.

This concept resonates deeply with my own healing journey with Hashimoto's, a thyroid condition. It's no surprise that healing for me has been synonymous with massive change. Perhaps you, too, have grappled with thyroid issues, it seems to be a common thread among many women.

While there's a scientific explanation, I’m also convinced that illness finds fertile ground in our energetic vulnerabilities. It's as if these imbalances create an invitation for dis-ease to take root. After all, the mind, body, and spirit are intricately woven; nothing happens in one without affecting the others.

The current wave of change for women, the rise of our voices, the fight for truth might be challenging our throats on a physical level. But silencing ourselves is far more detrimental to our health than speaking up.

The blue in "Prayers of Forgiveness" embodies this beautifully, a deep, phthalo blue, rich and iridescent. It reflects the multifaceted nature of this powerful color, allowing for both vibrant intensity and ethereal wispiness. It's a color steeped in reverence, a testament to the sacredness of the throat chakra.

The many shades of blue: A willing healer

When discussing color, we differentiate between value (lightness/darkness) and hue (the actual color itself). We shift hues by adding white or black, or by mixing in other colors. But with blue, there's something unique. Unlike yellow, where brightness reigns supreme, blue presents a spectrum of itself. It can be a bold, saturated hue, or a whisper-soft, almost silvery one.

I envision a healthy throat chakra resembling a magnificent Elizabethan collar—its energy radiating outward and upward, reaching for the pineal gland and the third eye, propelling us towards higher consciousness. Blue, then, is as expansive as it can be healing. Did you know that we expect the color blue to calm us down so much that particular medications are blue for that very reason? They actually work better to help us feel settled and more relaxed because they’re blue.

A few years ago, during a healing session in Sedona, I was surrounded by visions of blue butterflies. The meaning remained elusive at the time, but with my subsequent thyroid diagnosis, the pieces clicked into place. The butterfly, after all, mirrors the shape of the thyroid gland. Perhaps, as I embraced my voice and stepped into my healing, my thyroid responded in kind. Perhaps you've had similar experiences?

The frequency of blue: A bridge to higher selves

The throat chakra vibrates at 741 Hz, a frequency associated with self-expression and creativity. This frequency acts as a shield, repelling negativity, anger, and jealousy—anything that casts a shadow on our well-being.

Interestingly, 741 Hz resonates with enlightenment and ultimate consciousness on Dr. David Hawkins' Map of Consciousness. As we explored in "The Frequency of Green," the heart holds a connection to higher consciousness. It makes perfect sense, then, that the throat chakra acts as a bridge, channeling the heart's energy upwards and paving the path to our higher selves. It's a doorway to the ever-expanding versions of who we are.

The more I delve into the world of color, the more I'm convinced of its profound impact on our well-being. Color whispers to our spirits, and when we open ourselves to its embrace, healing can unfold. Let's keep exploring this vibrant conversation!
