Had I journeyed a conventional path in life, I believe I would be clocking in and out of a day job that did not fulfill me. Yes, it would ensure that I had a paycheque going into my bank account on the same day at the same time every week. But would I feel as fulfilled as I do today?

inlagg: heart

The answer would be no! I am so glad that I chose the path I now walk. Had I not, I would have always had that niggling feeling telling me that there was something more for me out there.

When I was 31 years old, I still didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was one of those kids in school who wondered how my peers could confidently know that they were working towards it. Were they saying it because they thought it was what they should do? Is it because it was expected of them or because they really wanted to pursue a career in these fields? I do not know the answer to that, but I know that I struggled with being engaged in school because I did not have any aligned aspirations.

Fast track a few years, many jobs, and a diploma in Humanities at the age of 31, I was to discover exactly why I had never truly known what I wanted to do in life. It was because I had not been introduced to it yet. I knew nothing about authorship and publishing. But one thing was for sure, every single lived experience I had in my life was preparing me for this moment.

One thing I have come to appreciate is that it is not the mind that should be navigating our destiny; it is also our heart and soul. If we do not harmonize all three, we risk never experiencing our life’s purpose.

What is the Unconventional Success Strategy?

1. Ask yourself, ‘Am I fulfilled with what I am doing for my job?’ (Answer YES? Move on to the next section and enjoy the rest of the article. If your answer is NO, then move to the next step)

2. Ask yourself, ‘What do I enjoy doing most in life?’

3. Set an intention to do more of that and get paid to do it!

4. Watch for the signs and/or inspired thoughts and have the courage to ACT!

5. Life is an adventure. Go after it with passion.

6. Have the courage to act when you KNOW that something is aligned.

7. Do not take on board others opinions. It is not your job to manage their fears.

When I was 31 years old, I wrote a story that led me into publishing, where I found my calling and my soul purpose to help stories be told. I built up an amazing brand by showing up authentically, sharing my story, investing time and money into myself and upskilling all the time, and then going on to build a powerful team so that I could transition from doing everything in my business to being able to stay in my genius zone of connection and opportunity creation.

When you realize that people fail in their business because they lose interest in what they are doing and in thinking of creative ways to generate cash flow. Economic strains are stressful but not the reason why businesses fail. I have known many businesses that have successfully pivoted to go with the economy and circumstances' ebbs and flows.

So to ensure success in sustainability, do something you love and grow alongside your business. There are no limits to what you can make happen, no limits to what you can earn, the only limits that come are the ones set in place by you!
