The Slingshot Guys’ story of how they came to be one of the country’s best, most trusted video production companies is like no other. From humble beginnings they gained a big reputation thanks to their love for drama and amazing storytelling.

Today, they have dozens of success stories under their belt, and their client list is full of household names like Pure Bites, Tremco, and Kerem Health. This is the story of how they staked out their reputation for crafting some of the most well-designed, best-selling commercial videos on the market.

From theater kids to story sellers

Their journey began with their hobby as drama lovers. They themselves are experienced in performing arts, and set up a place to write scripts and help new actors grow. They didn't just do stage shows; they also went to schools, teaching how stories can change minds.

After pitching themselves and building an online presence, their big moment came: they got a call from their first big client asking for a video commercial script. This showed them their scripts could make things happen, not just entertain. "It's all about the script," they say. They knew good script-writers were hard to find, so they focused on teaching and writing great scripts.

But it's not just about writing. They have a team of video experts, editors, animators, and voice actors who work hard to bring those scripts to life. They're known for being reliable and finishing on time.

The client’s dream video on their own terms

Another aspect sets The Slingshot Guys apart from their competitors: their commitment to upholding price transparency. From consulting with clients, CEO Eilish Wertheimer quickly realized that many potential clients are anxious about discussing pricing with the producers. When faced with the dreaded question, “What’s your budget?” first-time clients don’t know what to say. They have no background knowledge of video production, and don’t understand all of the factors that go into a video’s price tag, be it actors, cameramen, production, and more.

Wertheimer noted early on that people don't always understand video budgets. To remedy this, he made price sheets so clients can visualize and understand how creativity connects to the budget. For example, more actors or elaborate set designs cost more. However, a bigger budget doesn’t just mean more spending; it means more creativity and better details. This way, clients can tailor the budget to their needs and not spend more than they’re comfortable with.

Their flexible approach works for everyone. A bigger budget means a bigger team and more creativity for a commercial. Clients also get more say in the budget instead of being handed an exorbitant bill at the end. The Slingshot Guys also realized the need for simpler videos and made packages for them. Even though setup takes time, clients get more content for the same price.

This video was made for a client who wanted a video with a smaller budget. Instead of cutting corners to make this happen and harming the quality, The Slingshot Guys found ways to cut filming costs. They wrote a script using only one actor and chose only one shooting location, so on the day of shooting there were fewer people who needed to be paid, and the shoot was done faster thanks to a smaller crew.

Why the slingshot guys?

The company’s overall approach has gained the trust of their clients, many of which had been burned by their experiences with other firms in the past. Christine WT, one of many satisfied clients, speaks of the joy of working with The Slingshot Guys and testifying to their trustworthiness:

“So basically, when I found The Slingshot Guys, I approached them with a 15-foot trust pole because I was so scared of repeating the same experience I had with another company. Despite my initial hesitance, the Slingshot Guys still earned this glowing 5-star review. 10/10 would recommend them for any video project you have.

Filming Day came, and this is where I really saw The Slingshot Guys shine. They were taking care of everything on set – setting up, mood, lighting, camera angles, helping me select wardrobe. These guys were such professionals and really take pride in their work. Not a single flyaway hair was allowed to be out of place, the camera angles had to be perfect, It gave me so much relief that they were thinking of all these little details because I didn't know what to think about them.”

Operating from New York and Texas, The Slingshot Guys’ reach is much larger and they eagerly collaborate with clients nationwide. They fear no challenge or scale of project. Regardless of the client, their videos encapsulate a brand's spirit, guaranteeing a big splash.

Beyond being a video production team, they elevate storytelling to an art. They skillfully weave together scripts, expert production, and client service. Their track record is flawless, a natural feat for a crew driven by the zeal to craft memorable brand narratives. As they blaze on, The Slingshot Guys prove that passion and dedication can turn any story into a blockbuster success.
