Continuing our exploration of color frequencies, let's delve into orange, a captivating color between grounding red and energetic yellow. Science tells us that light exists as a wave with a specific wavelength and frequency. Our brains interpret these waves as colors. But how do these wavelengths affect us?

The fire

The potential within

Orange, the color of the sacral chakra, is linked to our creativity and procreation. It represents the potential for new beginnings and the transformation of raw materials into something beautiful.

If you’re like me and value both science and spirituality, you can appreciate this on multiple levels. From a scientific standpoint, orange represents the act of creation itself. Just as a fire transforms wood into heat and light, our ideas can be transformed into solutions and innovations.

Spiritually, orange reminds us of the potential within each of us. We are all capable of creating and transforming, both individually and collaboratively.

The duality of orange

The wavelength of orange light falls between the emotional states of fear and joy on David Hawkins' scale of consciousness. This duality is reflected in the way we perceive orange. It can be bold and stimulating yet also grounding and secure. It can be either vibrant and loud, or muted and soft, varying from a nearly-neon tangerine to a gentle, understated peach.

So, too, can we be any “shade” we wish to be—bold and vivacious or reserved and thoughtful.

Orange in action: Balancing exploration with stability

Great works of art, like Van Gogh's paintings, often utilize contrasting colors to create depth and vibrancy. One of my big takeaways from studying his paintings is the contrast of a hot color against a cool one—hot orange against a cool blue. I find myself using orange in my work. add a layer of richness without overpowering the other colors.

Similarly, strong leadership requires a balance between exploration and stability. When we embrace orange's potential for creativity, we can encourage calculated risks and innovative thinking within and without ourselves. Perhaps this is why so many tech companies seem to favor this color!

The takeaway: Orange is a call to action

Orange is a reminder that within each of us lies immense potential for creation and transformation. By embracing the scientific and spiritual aspects of this color, we can cultivate environments that foster innovation and celebrate the human capacity to create.

So, what will you create today?
