I considered this topic when an event in my life showed me that it was the next one. You know, Synchronicity. I had seen a new Md for a problem with my foot and tore a ligament in my toe in the interim. I asked him how long it would take to heal. He said for most people, three months; for you, probably a few weeks. Then he told me a story about a man who spontaneously healed an issue. He then looked at me and said, “There is something very different about you. I could meet and have met many people, but I could meet a million and not one of you. I saw it on you the minute you walked into my office. But I don’t know what it is.”

I replied, “I’m psychic, but have you ever heard of Kundalini?” He said he had not; he got the short version of what is below. Then he said, “I could talk about this all day.” Yep, he’s a keeper.

I don’t even know where to start with this tall tale. It is personal, global, and it is happening now. It has been happening in stages for a very long time. Yin/yang, good/evil, fate/free will, one/zero, light/dark.

For those of you who have heard of Kundalini, this may interest you. If not, you might want to stop now.

It is the spiritual energy called “the serpent power” coiled at the base of the spine, where it is believed to be a force or power associated with the divine feminine or the formless aspect of the Goddess. When cultivated and awakened through tantric practice, this energy in the body is believed to lead to spiritual liberation.

It happened to me, or I would not believe it. My nickname in the Feng Shui Program became “Goddess.” It arose from those who witnessed my Kundalini opening. I was in no way prepared for this. Many people fast, meditate and spend time in Ashrams and still do not experience it. Mine was spontaneous, unplanned, and part of my soul contract.

It was May of 2005, and I was at a consult in an apartment in NYC. There was a photo of the Green Tara on the wall, and one of my teachers said, “Hey Diane, you might want to go look at that.” The Green Tara is both a Buddha and Bodhisattva. I looked and sat down. I took off my glasses and sat in her pose by instinct.

We started to chant the mantra: Oṃ Tāre Tuttāre Ture Svāhā.

The next thing I knew, I felt a tightness in my right hip, it then moved to my low back, and then it started to move up my spine. My hands went into spontaneous mudras or kriyas and began doing things I did not understand. I could feel the energy rising from chakra to chakra while my hands went through all these sacred hand poses. It lasted about 10-15 min. I later had to look them all up.

I am told that during this time, which about 12 people witnessed, I had a physical transfiguration and looked 20 years younger, my green eyes looked like emeralds, and I had light emanating off my body about 3 feet in diameter. This lasted and was visible for about two weeks. I wish someone had it on film. It ended with me prostrated on the floor, praying with my hands in the Uttarbodhi Mudra, pictured below. It is a gesture that identifies with a supreme power. It Symbolizes perfection and enlightenment.

While prostrated on the floor, with the mudra above my head, I was asked to take the Bodhisattva vow; I said no. I was in an altered state of consciousness and did not know what I was agreeing to, so I said no. The vow is to dedicate your life to eliminating the suffering of all sentient beings. I took a partial vow, but I, of course, ended up doing the whole vow anyway.

It was one of those “Are you kidding me moments. Me? Do what?” “Let me think about it.” I apparently had to say something out loud, so they modified the vow. You probably have noted that I don’t always do what I am told. It was later suggested that I seek out a Llama and ask for the Green Tara Empowerments energetically.

Just picture my face with a Wtf look. Why would I travel to some foreign country to do that after what just happened? Her energy was just activated in my body, but should I seek a rubber stamp somewhere? It did not make any sense to me.

For two weeks after I was ungrounded, I went to see my Md, who was Indian, so she thankfully knew what was happening. She said I can see it. She put me on medical leave for two weeks. It took five years for me to regain my physical health. I was mentally intact. No one knew what to do with me. I did not know what to do with myself. I believe my entire energetic body was affected and altered in some fundamental way.

I became very, very gifted, this was the activation of my root diety, and it is the Green Tara. For that moment, I suppose I was “enlightened.” I have not been the same since.

Before this class, we were all doing a meditative technique called the Utmost Yogas Stage Nine. It involved visualizing a ball of light into the third eye and circulating it in a certain way throughout the body. One night while doing it, a light came into my bedroom window, a stream of pure, vibrant, yet soft energy. I could feel it enter into the back of the base of my neck. This area is often referred to as “The mouth of God.” I did not know what it was, except that I had not experienced it before.

We met at Spring Street Café, our tradition to catch up before the next set of classes. So, I told the story. One of the teacher’s assistants got up after looking at me for a long time and left the table. She knew what it meant and what was coming, but no one said anything. And then it happened; I was told later by those who had seen it what they witnessed. I knew what was going on, but my body was on autopilot. As the energy rose, I heard them discuss mixing Ida, Pingala, and other things. The burning away of 250 years of karma.

As I looked up when it was over, every person in the room had a single tear running down their left eye. What did this signify? I later looked to see what this meant and found this text related to Avalokiteśvara.

“In Buddhism, Avalokiteśvara, also known as Avalokitasvara, is a bodhisattva who contains the compassion of all Buddhas and is the principal attendant of Amitaba Buddha on the right. He has 108 avatars, the most notable of which is Padmapāṇi (the lotus bearer). He is variably depicted, described, and portrayed as either male or female in different cultures. Guanyin is one of the female depictions of Avalokiteśvara that appears in East Asia.”

It is said: “A teardrop from his left eye fell upon the plain and became the reverend Tara. She also declared, 'Child of your lineage! As you are striving for the sake of sentient beings in the Land of Snows, intercede in their suffering, and I shall be your companion in this endeavor!' Tārā was then reabsorbed into Avalokiteshvara's left eye."

Hence, the tear in the left eye meaning. My classmates did not approach me for days. The experience was so powerful, profound, and indescribable; they did not know what had happened, nor did I. I could not find words to discuss it, but we tried. We all just knew it was a rare and major occurrence. I did not write or talk about it for years.

I had a friend in class, and we stayed at the same hotel. He got me back there. But on the way back, I saw things I couldn’t even describe. I could look at anyone and know if they were sick, had cancer, or had an addiction. I could see what realm their energy or chi was in, if their energy was good or bad. It was interesting, and I learned fast that things are not as they appear. The quiet and kind doorman at the hotel had the best energy of anyone I had encountered. I made sure to double my tips. I did not sleep for two days.

I kept having these disturbing visions of someone being stabbed. When I got home, I realized what it was. I had been to a conference before I left, and it was on all of the famous awful murders that had taken place and relatives talking about them. I had all the pamphlets in my bag. I was picking up that energy.

So, what are the qualities of the Divine feminine? This is a list:

  • Intuitive

  • Compassionate

  • Wise

  • Accepting

  • Heart-Centered

  • Forgiving

  • Collaborative

  • Reflective

  • Sensual

There is also the Divine masculine, and they will be soul mates when and if these two meet.

Qualities:

  • Protection

  • Discipline

  • Authority

  • Guidance

  • Resilience

  • Maturity

  • Responsibility

  • Willful

  • Action

  • Logic

There is also, of course, the balance and integration of our own divine and masculine/feminine aspects. It is essential to understand this concept because it is something all of our souls will move through as a collective. It is happening now. There is more light on the planet since last year’s solstice than ever. There is also a corresponding rise in the dark. And this is Spiritual warfare. Truly.

More on that later. Much more.

Feminine awareness is not linear or limited by time and space. It is an expansive and Divine intelligence that will eventually touch each of our lives. The Divine Feminine is evidenced by the unexplainable synchronicities that put you in just the right place at the right time: the gut feelings and the goosebumps.

It is love, grace, and trust.

The rise of the Divine feminine is a transition into an energy flow that cannot be forced. It is the onset of an Era. A paradigm shift, and, well, no one likes that. Systems of health, government, and education are built on outdated thoughts. They resist change, but the change is upon us now.

Things are going to get even more interesting and complicated. It is more important now than ever to raise your vibration and keep it high.

As a bit of humor, before I left for that class, I had made about three energy adjustments in my office with mirrors and empowered them. They can expand, move energy, and create openings. I may have overdone it.

However, it did earn me the nickname “Goddess.” She is also known as the Empress in Tarot.

I think I’ll keep it. I believe I earned it.

I never did ask my Md precisely what he saw. I will have to follow up on that.

I always like to add a quote:

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Edmund Burke

Attributed to Edmund Burke, but the true origin appears unknown. Wise, indeed.
