It feels as if we’re being flooded by manifestation techniques, teachings, and videos these days. Although manifesting is real, it’s important to ask the deeper questions as well as why we want to attract certain things in our lives. Does it come from a place of joy and excitement or from a place of lack? Will that house, job, or partner truly fulfill all our desires? When was the last time you asked for something and, after receiving it, never asked for anything else ever again?

If we’re being brutally honest with ourselves, we want to manifest specific outcomes because we’re not happy with where we are now. Deep down, we are convinced we have found the missing piece of the puzzle that will make everything better.
As a matter of fact, we have been manifesting all that is in our lives already, unconsciously. But we often forget our own power. We believe that life happens to us, that we have no control over it whatsoever. By giving our power away, we blame Life, the Universe, God, Spirit, or whatever we tend to call it, for all that goes wrong in our lives.
So how can we move from a place of lack to a place of abundance?
1. Envision the best possible future for manifestation
Let me start by saying that this step, as strange as it may seem, is optional. It’s not strictly necessary, but it can help as a visual to get into alignment with what you truly want.
Imagine where you live, the kind of partner you have if you’re seeking one, the type of work you’re doing, and so on. Make it as big as you want. By doing this, it can reveal what you genuinely desire.
It might be that by adding something that seemed important to you, the insight comes that it doesn’t really matter or make much difference. You can leave it in as a “nice to have” if you choose.
Maybe you don’t have a clear vision, but your ambition is simply to experience inner peace or happiness. Ask yourself: what would that look like? How would you spend your days? How would it feel? You can always use a memory of a time when you experienced the feeling you’re trying to recreate.
2. Experience the feelings of being in that perfect future
Dive deep into your body and experience living that dream life. How does it make you feel? Which emotions arise when you fully submerge yourself and allow yourself to feel as if your desires have already come to fruition? Maybe you’ll even breathe a huge sigh of relief as your body is flooded with the love, safety, joy, and peace that naturally come from it. Feel the joyous sensation of “it’s already mine.”
3. Drop the vision completely
It is important to understand that you don’t really want that person, career, house, or private jet. What you truly desire is how it makes you feel.
You might think you want a specific outcome, but if another opportunity comes along that fulfills those same feelings of home, safety, or success, you’ll immediately forget the previous vision.
What you can imagine is limited by your mind, based on past experiences and impressions. Life, however, is limitless. Every time you’ve fully opened yourself to receive, the outcome has often been better than you imagined.
The ego will fixate on a specific vision, but that alone will never fulfill you long-term. You don’t know what’s best for you, so allow Life to guide you. Using a vision board is fine, but remember, it represents only the best you can think of, which is small compared to what’s possible.
4. Stick with the emotions
Your future is born in the now. The present moment is the place of creation. Experience the feeling of having all your dreams fulfilled now, not as a distant future goal. Live as if it is already reality. Feel it and act accordingly.
Open yourself to receive all the blessings that are not only coming but are already present, even if you can’t yet see them. Trust in Life.
You have already attracted everything in your life. If you feel like something is missing, life will mirror that, and you’ll experience lack. Shift your emotions and thoughts toward positivity, for yourself and the world.
5. Let go of the outcome
This is probably the most difficult and paradoxical step. The moment you stop needing something, it arrives, perhaps in the form you imagined, or perhaps in a better way.
This requires trust. Think of it like ordering something online, you don’t check the mailbox every five seconds. You trust it will arrive in due time and continue living your life without worry.
Remember, what you truly want is the feeling it gives you. You can’t control life, but you can control how you choose to feel.
Live as if all your wishes are already fulfilled. Feel the joy, celebration, relief, and gratitude. You attract what you are, not what you merely think of.
As long as you focus on lack, that is what you will experience. Move toward gratitude for all that is in your life, for all that is to come, for the air you breathe and let Life surprise you.
