It is a pleasure to meet you, John! Your vibrating energy is contagious, no wonder you entertained millions for many years on screen! Would you be so kind to introduce yourself to our readers?

Thank you very much. As you mentioned, my name is John Pattyson and I’m a Director/Producer/Writer based in Los Angeles. You mention my energy, which has been a hallmark of my life, which I attribute to having a positive attitude and my fitness routine, which I make a daily priority. I believe happiness is a choice in life. You can’t control life, but you can control how you deal with what is dealt to you. Gratitude is one of the cornerstones of life.

I have been very fortunate to have won 3 Emmys for TV shows I have Produced and Directed over the years and have a diverse background in all facets of production having worked in television and feature films and the world of XR (virtual reality, augmented reality, AI and virtual humans).

I began my career as a Sportscaster for NBC-TV and came to Los Angeles to host TV shows and started my first production company decades ago. My experience varies from interviewing celebrities on the red carpets of the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys, and Golden Globes, to being part of the team that worked with Samsung to produce a “first” ‒ the Summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil in virtual reality. We also produced Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in VR which was great fun.

Those are fascinating achievements. Congratulations! I know you created a course that would ease up many people who are dreaming about having a career in Hollywood. What inspired you to create this program? Have you or someone in your surroundings experienced difficulties to get into the world of moviemaking?

One of my joys is to give back and speak to students and professionals to give them advice and tips on how to find a career in the Entertainment Industry. One question I always get is, “How do I break into Hollywood? I don’t know anyone. I have no contacts and I am clueless”.

There is no user manual and no right way or wrong to way break into Hollywood. Therefore, I created an online course called, “The Inside Man: How To Navigate Hollywood & Live Your Dreams” based on my 35+ years in the industry.

It’s an excellent overview of the “business” of Hollywood and what careers and jobs are available. right now. The goal is to give shortcuts and tips and avoid a lot of pain based on my experiences. I am really proud of it because it absolutely adds value and gives important information on ways to start your journey right now. I wish I had something like this when I began my career.

That is wonderful! I also heard that you are working on a very exciting project lately which is in the digital technology area. I would love to learn more about that.

We are all very excited about this new venture as well. I, with some good and amazingly talented friends are launching a new company called, “The Astronaut Group”. It is an interactive production company that specializes in creating AR ads for Global brands. We have been instrumental in helping Meta (Facebook) and Instagram build their AR Ad platform and plan to expand worldwide.

Thank you so much for bringing this information to us. Finally, I would like to ask you what advice you would give to our readers who are still sitting on the fence with their dreams in their heads.

I always tell everyone don’t ever give up on their dream and passion. There’s a saying, “If you wanna kill a big dream, tell it to a small-minded person”. This is so true, especially if that doubter is a family member, parent, or best friend. It takes a single-minded person and a single-minded drive.

Thank you so much for everything you do; your continual work ethic is extremely inspiring. I wish you great success with your projects!
