Diana Cantu Kawas, Holistic Coach, Psychologist & Spiritual Leader

Please tell us more about yourself, so we can get to know you better.

Although I don't usually define myself by labels, I’ll introduce myself as Diana Cantú Kawas, psychologist, holistic coach, executive and personal coach, yoga teacher, author, speaker, and founder of Omphalos Coaching. I am also a creative entrepreneur, nature lover, spiritual leader, and passionate explorer of new territories, especially in art, travel, fashion, and illustration.

Since childhood, I’ve been a highly sensitive soul with a unique lens on life and a deep desire to support others. Over the years, I’ve learned the art of self-reinvention, and today, I’m fully committed to guiding others through their own transformational journeys.

Psychology was the first step on my path toward understanding, accepting, and loving who I am. But it was through studying Coaching and Neuroscience that I experienced a major turning point. These disciplines helped me shift from limited, habitual thinking into a mindset of expansion, revealing that my greatest tool was my own mind.

Still, it wasn’t until I deepened my practice into spirituality that everything came into alignment. Spirituality reconnected me with my true, authentic self; embodiment practices helped me access and process my emotions; and understanding the power of the mind allowed me to rewire old belief systems.

This holistic integration of mind, body, and spirit became the foundation of my personal transformation, and it’s the same triad I now share with my clients. It's what has helped me turn pain into purpose and struggle into strength.

What inspired you to create Omphalos Coaching?

As a child, I loved playing doctor, caring for others, trying to figure out what was “wrong,” and wanting to heal them. Over time, I became a different kind of doctor: one who listens deeply, holds space for others, draws out their inner strength, and serves as a catalyst for transformation.

Secondly, in high school, I didn’t like who I was. I didn’t feel worthy or good enough. I was striving to be “daddy’s perfect girl.” I constantly compared myself to others and struggled with low self-esteem. But one day, I decided it was time for a change. I chose to reinvent myself and build confidence by becoming the version of me I truly wanted to be.

That turning point was profound. It shaped my path and became the reason I’ve been able to support thousands of clients who face similar challenges, struggles with identity, self-worth, personal power, and mindset.

Lastly, after earning my degree in psychology and while searching for a master’s degree program, I discovered coaching and instantly fell in love with its transformative power. When I completed my studies in Executive and Personal Coaching in Barcelona in 2012, I launched my business with one clear mission: to help people unlock their potential, understand themselves on a deeper level, build authentic relationships, and grow as conscious leaders.

Since then, my work has evolved into a holistic practice that integrates mind, body, and spirit, offering even greater value to the people and communities I serve.

Could you elaborate on the services offered by Omphalos Coaching and how they drive performance, authenticity, and inner fulfillment in leaders?

What is your coaching philosophy?

We are multidimensional beings; this perspective allows me to support my clients holistically in seven areas: spiritual, emotional, mental, energetic, psychological, physical, and etheric.

As a coach, what I seek to provoke in you is to ignite your internal light, to introspect at the subconscious level, to find the switch and turn it on, to begin to know yourself, but above all, to remember who you are and why you are here.

I believe in the perfect blend of science-backed spirituality, fostering a communion that enables healing and empowerment with ease and grace.

Life is an adventure, and I am here to help my clients navigate it with passion, authenticity, love, and freedom.

What do you love most about your job?

In four words: Witnessing beautiful life transformations.

I love creating genuine connections with my clients, rooted in trust, safety, and self-acceptance. These spaces of connection empower them to feel balanced, aligned, and comfortable in their own skin, so they can truly be who they are meant to be.

This work is not only my passion, it’s deeply personal. The very methods I’ve developed and now teach have also helped me on my own journey to build self-worth, authenticity, visibility, and embodied leadership. Life is always a two-way path: what you give, you receive. I’ve learned how to give the best without depleting my energy or losing touch with who I am.

Helping clients create healthy boundaries, navigate emotions, cultivate inner safety and personal power, develop self-awareness, and step into their fullest potential has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding parts of my path as a coach.

How does your background in psychology, neuroscience, and Eastern practices influence your approach to self-development and leadership?

I bring significant value to my clients through a diverse blend of experience across various fields and disciplines, rooted in both Eastern and Western traditions. This integrative approach allows me to offer a more expansive perspective in the coaching process.

My academic background and certifications enable me to understand people from a holistic standpoint, mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. This multidimensional lens provides deeper insight into where clients are on their journey and how I can support them in becoming more of who they are truly meant to be.

While my business initially focused on mental and cognitive development, my methodology has evolved into a more comprehensive approach, one that honors the full complexity of the human experience and contributes meaningfully to self-development in all its dimensions.

This depth of understanding also allows me to help clients increase self-awareness around outdated identities, limiting patterns, and recurring behaviors that no longer serve them. We often carry subconscious emotional weight that can lead to self-sabotage or fear-based living. When these emotional blocks are released and transformed, they open the door to greater freedom, joy, and authenticity.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

One of the most defining moments of my life took place around 2008, when I decided to create and publish my first magazine in my hometown.

I had just graduated as a psychologist and had always dreamed of writing a book. One day, while sharing this with a colleague, she told me she had the same dream and suggested we start with something “easier,” a bi-monthly magazine.

Honestly, I don’t know how we ever thought that would be easier, but it turned out to be one of the most enriching experiences of my life. It opened my mind to develop creative and leadership skills I never imagined I had.

In no time, I was immersed in the creative conceptualization of each cover; styling models, working with photographers, hiring designers, illustrators, and writers; managing operations, selling advertising, and collaborating with both local and international brands.

Eventually, we had to bring the project to a close, as my studies in Executive and Personal Coaching in Barcelona were calling. However, about a year later, I continued publishing with new partners.

These projects further sharpened my editorial and creative abilities and expanded me on many levels: I built strong self-confidence, cultivated meaningful relationships, discovered a deep passion for how fashion can help bring out someone’s most authentic self, and learned to truly enjoy working with a multidisciplinary team.

These experiences have been pivotal for me, especially during times when I’ve doubted myself or questioned who I am. They’ve served as a powerful reminder of my strong capabilities and results-driven mindset, and have become the foundation of my unique leadership style.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

I would redefine the meaning of the word power. In countries where individualism is overvalued, we’ve spent centuries focused on how to gain more on global domination while losing sight of the importance of inner dominion, sovereignty, or self-dominion.

True power comes from within. Deep in the core of our being lies an infinite wealth of inner resources not to take from others, but to create more from within ourselves.

There is far more power and value in knowing who we are and why we’re here, learning the strength of vulnerability, developing essential human skills such as empathy, creativity, self-regulation, and being transparent with our intentions and emotions. If this were our collective focus, we’d likely see far more people living with joy and freedom.

We can build powerful leaders and high-performing teams without corrupting positions of authority through tyranny, fear, or false respect. Instead, we have the choice to lead with authenticity, emotional intelligence, and higher purpose.

If something in this conversation resonated with you, whether it's the desire to feel more aligned, empowered, or connected to your true self, I invite you to take the next step.

Let’s explore what’s possible for you.
