UK-based author, entrepreneur, and Fiklyn Press founder Joseph Arabi has been officially nominated for the 2026 Black Achievers Award, recognizing his professional journey, authorship, and work to create platforms that celebrate African and diaspora stories. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 24 October 2026, at Crowne Plaza Nottingham.

Arabi’s nomination comes as his work continues to bring together professional experience, storytelling and cultural representation. His journey from Africa to the United Kingdom, where he has built a career while raising a family and developing his work as an author and entrepreneur, has shaped much of his creative and community-focused work.

His experiences of migration and adapting to life in the UK became the inspiration for his book Roots Across Borders, which explores the experiences, aspirations and challenges associated with building a new life across borders. The book reflects themes of identity, resilience, family, and belonging that have become central to Arabi’s wider storytelling work.

Beyond authorship, Arabi is developing Fiklyn Press, with Fiklyn Life as an emerging African diaspora lifestyle media platform. The initiative aims to document and celebrate people, businesses, creativity, culture, fashion, food and achievements across the African diaspora, creating a space where stories and contributions can be shared with a wider audience.

Commenting on the nomination, Joseph Arabi said:

“I receive this nomination with humility and gratitude. For me, recognition is most meaningful when it reminds us of the journey behind the achievement. My journey from Africa to the UK has shaped much of what I do today. Through my books and through Fiklyn Press, I want to create something that goes beyond my own story; to create space for other people’s stories, achievements and contributions to be seen and celebrated.”

The 2026 Black Achievers Awards will take place on 24 October 2026 at Crowne Plaza Nottingham. The black-tie event is expected to bring together nominees, guests and members of the wider community to recognize achievements and contributions.
