Jamie Caroccio, Copy Coach & Copywriter

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

Hi, I’m Jamie Caroccio, an Italian-Czech American and NYC ex-pat living in Madrid, Spain.

I attended St. Lawrence University where I double-majored in Creative Writing (with a focus on non-fiction and poetry) and Estudios Hispanicos (Spanish Studies) and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

In my junior year of college, I had the life-changing opportunity to study abroad in Madrid, Spain, where I met the love of my life and the man who is now my husband and life partner. We got married my senior year of college (our story is pretty wild but that’s an anecdote for another article!) After graduation, I returned to Madrid to teach English for a year, where I made the realization that working in a school with kids, while critically important, was NOT my jam.

I’m self-taught in marketing and for the past 7+ years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with hundreds of coaches (business, executive, leadership, life, and more.) I’ve helped write copy for six and seven-figure campaigns at one of the top marketing agencies in the personal and professional development space.

I help coaches attract more high-end clients online with copywriting that’s simple, fun, and profitable.

When I’m not teaching coaches how to position themselves against the competition in their copy, you can find me curled up with a book, jetting off to Portugal for the weekend, or doing yoga in the woods.

Oh and I’m OBSESSED with sheep. No real back story or reason for the madness, but I love ‘em!

What are your current goals for your business?

I’m so grateful and proud to be where I am today and excited for future growth. I am working toward making my work threefold, to 1) publish essays and poems, 2) train business owners how to write copy (what I do now!), and 3) teach other writers how to hone their writing skills. I’d also love to continue to partner with key companies to facilitate copy training and workshops.

Another life goal of mine is to write and publish a memoir on travel and identity. Other goals include being published in reviews like The New Yorker, Poetry Daily, The Poetry Foundation Org, and Forbes. Oh, and having my alma mater, St. Lawrence University, invite me to speak about building a lucrative career in the arts.

My mission in life is simple: Write, travel, be kind, find joy and share it with others.

What is your work inspired by?

Having worked with hundreds of coaches over almost a decade, one of the top objections I hear is, “I’m just not a writer.”

I believe we’re all born creative beings. I’d even argue we’re all born writers, artists, and dancers…

But over time the world (read: teachers, parents, friends, society as a whole even the most well-intentioned) beat all the childhood curiosity and wonder right out of us. If we’re not careful, we retreat into our shells, consumed by fear and doubt.

Then one day we turn into that “I’m just not creative,” “I’m not a writer,” “I can’t paint,” or “I don’t dance” person.

But it’s a big, fat, life-limiting LIE.

I enjoy showing clients how they are, in fact, creative beings (and natural writers), even if they don’t know it yet.

I’ve seen it first hand. When they’re in a coaching session with a client it’s all lightbulbs, and “Omg what have I been doing without you all these years?!”

When their perfect client hears them speak, she thinks, "Now THAT's a chick I wanna work with!"

And, guess what?

THAT is exactly what good copy does behind the scenes.

And that’s where I come in. I help coaches attract more high-end clients online with copywriting that’s simple, fun, and profitable.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

It was a Wednesday morning seven years ago. I woke up sick to my stomach. I had started my first business with my husband a year prior, and the life I was leading wasn’t sustainable. I share more about the breaking point that led to some health issues and a major realization about what was important to me in business and in life in this article, 5 Life Lessons I Learned After Ditching My Digital Agency and Starting Over. Inside, I also share my experience going from making $25K my first year in business to over $100K doing what I love working part-time.

Today, I get to wake up in a beautiful apartment with the person I love most in the world, create my own schedule and work with clients and projects that I enjoy. And I get to create fun valuable resources like this free newsletter I put together to help coaches write better copy in just five minutes a day: Coffee & Copy Tips. ☕📝

One subscriber shared, “Because it’s less challenging for me to write copy now, I'm actually getting back time that I had lost daily, for years… and my copy is actually better!”

And that’s exactly why I do what I do.

Save time, get back to focusing on the parts of your business that light you up, and let your copy do the heavy lifting for you.
