Life has a way of leading your attention outward in many directions. Over in this, over in that, over in him, over in her. It leads attention away from the centred Self, and it is a daily task to stay centred while interacting with life, which can feel overwhelming.

Your core Self is full of wisdom, potential and peace. Leading your life from there makes life much more serene and a lot less stressful. Here are five ways that you can reconnect with your centred Self and serenity.

Meditating has a magical effect on your centredness and life. Just meditating for five minutes works wonders for you. Usually, there are inner distractions, and the mind jumps around, also known as the monkey mind, because of its rapid movements.

The best way to calm the monkey mind is to write down the different details, such as things to memorise for later. Emptying the mind of thoughts onto notes for later attention. It is my experience that it is highly beneficial to spend some minutes emptying the mind before going into meditation.

Another practice you can do is journaling. This is where you let your thoughts out onto paper and express everything in your mind. No holding back and no politeness. These are your raw, authentic thoughts on things. This method has a very deep cleansing effect and can bring up all sorts of emotions. It is common to cry or shout and let the profanities out.

A third method is to pay attention to your dreams. Dreams come in two forms. Firstly, when we sleep, we always go astral travelling, and we usually cannot remember it. Lucid dreaming is a gateway to becoming conscious while dreaming. Secondly, the brain processes daily life, and the subconscious has a lot to say. With dream interpretation, pay attention to the feelings in the dream, more so than the images. The feelings give clarity to situations in waking life.

A fourth way to reconnect to your authentic Self and serenity is through bodywork therapy. Old feelings and traumas are stored in the body’s muscle memory. Bodywork therapy lets these stuck emotions flow and creates space for them to be released and processed. It is life-changing to finally let go of both childhood traumas and adult traumas, and this is essentially what we all need.

Lastly, a fifth way to come home to your centred Self is through psychic medium consultation and healing. A psychic medium and healer offers guidance from the spirit realm and can heal energies in the body and auric field. The transformation can also have its origin in past lives, and here a psychic medium can help release it. This is where conventional therapy cannot reach, and it is my observation and experience that symptoms subside through regression and past life healing.

My perspective on reconnecting to Self, the pure, peaceful Self, is that we have to do the inner work. It is a very long process to rest in the Self permanently, and it can be done, but most people will not attain that. What is attainable for everyone is to come back to your centre, and with some effort, as explained, you can be there most of the time. Your life will be more peaceful, more aligned, and serenity emerges.
