What is astrocartography?

Locations have a powerful impact on our life, career, and business.

Astrocartography, also known as Locational Astrology, is a branch of astrology that examines the connection between your birth chart and different places on Earth. It reveals how specific locations align with your energy, shaping your experiences and opportunities in unique ways.

This practice maps your birth chart onto a world map, highlighting areas that can support or challenge different aspects of your journey.

What is human design?

Human Design is a system that helps individuals understand their unique energetic blueprint and design characteristics. It is based on the idea that each person has a distinct "design," determined by their exact birth date, time, and location. This system identifies different personality types, energy flows, and life strategies, offering insights on how to navigate life in alignment with your true nature.

The value of Human Design in everyday life lies in fostering deeper self-awareness, helping you recognize natural strengths, challenges, and decision-making processes. It also provides guidance on interpersonal relationships and ideal work styles. By understanding your design, you can make choices that align with your authentic self, leading to greater fulfillment and success.

Human design environments

One of the most insightful aspects of Human Design is examining the Variables, represented by the four arrows at the top of the Bodygraph chart. The bottom-left arrow indicates your ideal environment, offering insights into the types of living and working spaces that best support you. While some of this may already feel familiar, Human Design uniquely validates what you intuitively know about yourself.

In my holistic practice, I also incorporate the Environment Variable into Astrocartography readings, as it can offer valuable guidance when choosing locations for travel or relocation.

While environments in Human Design should not be taken literally, and you don’t need to live in a cave, kitchen, or marketplace, they do provide nuance. Each environment has two variations within the Bodygraph, giving deeper insight into what truly aligns with you. Below is a high-level overview of each environment.

The different types of environments

  • Caves: A nurturing environment for you is one that makes you feel safe and secure, with controlled access where you can always see and manage who enters and exits.

  • Markets: Your ideal environment involves places where you can discover new things and engage in the exchange of energy, goods, or resources.

  • Kitchens: You thrive in environments that are somewhat humid, where transformation occurs in the form of cooking or creating something new, often in the company of diverse individuals.

  • Mountains: You benefit from being higher than others, where you can observe the big picture and choose whom you communicate with.

  • Valleys: Your most supportive environment is at street level, allowing you to see and connect with the people and activities around you.

  • Shores: You feel most aligned in places that exist on the edge between two different spaces or where you can look out at a contrasting landscape.

How to find your ideal environment

To discover your ideal environment, generate a Bodygraph chart and consider exploring deeper insights with a professional reading. Your Environment Variable can offer valuable guidance when making decisions about travel, relocation, or creating harmonious spaces for yourself.
