Nanette Murphy, Author, Divorce & Health Coach

Who is Nanette?

Hello, my name is Nanette, and I am genuinely honored to be here and that you are reading a bit of my story.

I am a mother of three adult children, divorcing after nearly 25 years of marriage. It was tough at times and a little scary, but I found strength after heartbreak, discovered my drive after healing, and now I know my purpose because of my growth. Did I mention I'll be 57 this year? I share my age because it's important for others to see that change can happen at any age. I did re-marry about three years ago. It was not something in my long-range plan, but new love arrived again when I wasn't searching for it. I love to be with my family and friends. Most of my friends I consider as family. I am grateful that my children and I enjoy spending time together, although two live together in another State. My favorite pass time is traveling. There is still so much of the world I want to see.

I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, and long walks on the beach with my husband when we get the opportunity. I look forward to being a grandmother one day. That would fill my heart. What is your business name, and how do you help your clients? My business name is Live Life Now (with purpose). I help my clients heal from the pain of divorce, grow through self-care, and then find their new purpose in life. What kind of audience do you target your business towards? My clients are women who find themselves divorcing after about 15, 20 plus years of marriage. I have an online divorce community, www.divorceafterforty.com, where the women can join to give and receive support, advice, guidance. A space where they can ask questions and feel safe with no judgment. It is terrifying to find yourself divorcing after being with a partner for many years. There is a lot to think about and consider, all while learning to be alone. I intend to help them realize that they are not alone and will get through this troubling journey. What are your current goals for your business? I recently published my first book, "Shattered Dreams & New Beginnings" It is my journey of heartbreak, healing, and growth. I wrote the book to inspire and give hope to others. I want to get it on the best sellers list. I want women to read it to understand that I have been through what they are going through and am confident I can help them heal, grow and thrive. I'll continue to grow my community, eventually bringing professionals in; Accountants, lawyers, financial advisors, counselors who can assist, advise, or get hired by the women in the community. The community is in its infancy stage and is currently free to join. The next step is to begin charging a monthly fee. What would you like to achieve for yourself and your business in the future? I hope to write another book—a collaboration of stories of women who built a happy and prosperous life for themselves even after the devastation of divorce. Yes, devasting is how I describe it. The book would be another terrific addition to offer women about to experience divorce.

Who inspires you to be the best you can be?

That's easy; my kids, without a doubt, inspire me to be the best I can be

What is your work inspired by?

Women. Those who are going through a divorce later in life. These women inspire my work. Divorce is never easy; for me, divorce was the last option, and after being married nearly 25years to the man I met when I was just 18, the pain was deep. My purpose is to help other women, like myself, not only survive but get through it stronger, wiser, and more courageous than they ever imagined.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you where you are today.

My life shattered in 2010, and I feared the future. I divorced and picked up the pieces. The pivotal moment though, occurred in 2020. The world was upside down.

I decided to try and make the best of lockdown. I concentrated on good eating habits and exercise, but I also decided to take advantage of a free online course through Yale University; The Science of Well Being.

This one free class led me down a path and in a direction that I had never thought about or anticipated.

In one of the sessions, the professor mentioned Dr. Michael Beckwith. The name was familiar, so I googled him and recalled how much I enjoyed listening to him. In his bio, there was a reference to a platform called MINDVALLEY.

The next step, of course, was to find out more about MindValley; I had time, I wasn't going anywhere!

I signed up for the MV course led by Dr. Beckwith. I was intrigued by what MV had to offer. I found many other inspiring classes to take. They were life-changing. I decided to become a certified Life & Health Coach and began writing my book.

In 2021 I discovered that being a divorce coach was a thing! I was never aware of this. I continued to learn and grow, then built my divorce community and became a published author by doing this.

I am thrilled with where I am today and highly proud of myself for how far I've come. I used to fear the future; now, it excites me.
