Sara Garofalo, Intuitive Health & Life Coach

Introduce yourself! Please tell us about you and your life, so we can get to know you better.

Hey! I am Sara Garofalo.

I was born and raised in Italy, now living on the beautiful Central Coast of California, as a single mom of two beautiful angels.

I am a certified Health & Life Coach, Spiritual Guide, and Healer with a background in Ayurvedic Medicine who helps women break unhealthy (and subconscious) patterns and become more intuitive about their bodies through a sustainable holistic approach.

I love cooking, traveling, creative projects, dancing, and being in Nature.

So If you love the Italian culture, and Mediterranean cuisine and believe in mind-body-soul connection, welcome to my tribe!

What is your business name and how do you help your clients?

With my deep Italian roots, I am the Founder of Love Holistic Living. My business incorporates my background as an Intuitive Health and Life Coach and Ayurveda Counselor. I help busy women transform from continuous yo-yo dieting to finding the root cause of weight gain.

My goal is to help women break patterns and become more intuitive about their bodies through a sustainable holistic approach. Immersed in the rich Italian culture of my native country, my recipes carry the knowledge and taste of traditional Italian cuisine. Intertwining Ayurveda brings a totally holistic approach to my practice. In addition, my education in Regenerating Images in Memory (RIM) equips me with a powerful tool for transforming experiences that are causing mental, emotional, behavioral, social, motivational, physical, and spiritual problems.

With my Intuitive Gifts and Healing sessions, I have been helping women heal from the deepest traumas and roadblocks stored in the body that are preventing them from becoming the healthiest version of themselves.

What kind of audience do you target your business towards?

I help busy women who are ready to choose a lifelong dedication to maintaining their alignment with mind, body, and soul. Although my clients mostly range from 30 to 60 years old and are business decision-makers, Love Holistic Living is happy working with busy women of any age.

What are your current goals for your business? What would you like to achieve for yourself and your business in the future?

My greatest goal is to spread my message to more women who need and want this kind of help. I am also very excited to publish my health cookbook at the end of 2022.

Who inspires you to be the best that you can be?

My kids. I am a single mom entrepreneur. I was born and raised in Italy now living in California and I have no family here. When I entered my high-conflict divorce I promised myself that I would be the role model my kids needed and embody what a strong, independent, and healthy woman and parent you can be despite life’s “struggles”.

I wanted to be healthy mentally and physically and be able to hike, bike, run with my kids as well as run a successful business.

Tell us about your greatest career achievement so far.

I launched an Amazon Best Selling Book!

The new book, Prosperity Codes, focuses on “How to Attune to and Attract Wealth, Joy & Abundance.” Comprised of stories from 14 female spiritual disruptors, including my story, these women explore the true meaning of prosperity through their beliefs, values, experiences, and challenges. You may have guessed it, but prosperity isn’t a one-size-fits-all potion, it can’t be bottled up, nor is one recipe the end-all-be-all for another. But, that’s the magic of prosperity, really. Prosperity Codes is available now on Amazon HERE.

In Prosperity Codes, I detail how my unhealthy relationship with food was draining me. In order to manifest abundance, you need to feel good. Manifestation is about the alignment of your thoughts, words, and actions. In more detail, it is the vibrational alignment of good health, a good mindset, and truth to your higher self.

If you could change one thing about your industry, what would it be and why?

I would stop selling women “quick fixes.” Such are damaging to metabolism and to women’s mental health and body image.

Diets that promise “quick and easy” weight loss by cutting out certain foods from our diet lack the scientific proof to support their claims and promises. Popular diets like the Paleo Diet and the Ketogenic can be very restrictive, which can cause people to miss important nutrients in their diets. Another issue with diets is that they tend to promote lifestyle changes that can be hard to maintain. As a result, the weight loss experienced (if any) will likely not be sustained and enter a pattern of losing weight and gaining it back. This is called “yo-yo dieting” and can be harmful to our bodies.

In teens, dieting can make them feel distracted, tired, cold, and dizzy. They may also feel sad and unmotivated to do things, especially school work.

While it is common for young people to feel self-conscious, once this worry results in people restricting how much they eat (disordered eating habits), hating their bodies (negative body image), or always feeling guilty after eating, this behavior can be worrisome. It is important that we support young people to develop positive body images and engage in healthy eating habits.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your life that brought you to where you are today.

I started going to a dietitian who put me on a 1200-calorie/day diet. And for the next 2 years, I was so determined to be thin that, at that point, I did exactly what she told me to do while not realizing the vicious cycle I was entering. Suddenly I found myself fearing the scale. I developed food anxiety, and every single day I felt drained by constantly counting my calories. This didn’t feel easy, and it didn’t make me happy.

Just as I nearly surrendered to the idea of living in this prison forever, I looked in the mirror and saw the reality of what I did to myself. I saw a young girl. A daughter, a friend, a sister. Underweight and malnourished girl, I was following a path of restriction, yo-yo dieting, extreme workouts, and much abuse of my body.

I realized then, that I was pursuing self-hate instead of self-love.
