Crab Island is a stunning oasis off the shores of Destin in the panhandle of Florida. For full transparency, I actually haven’t traveled to Crab Island quite yet, though now that I’ve seen countless ads for the tropical destination on my social media, it certainly has been added to my bucket list. After doing a little research, apparently Crab Island is such an exotic place that you can’t even drive there by car – the only way to get there is via the ocean (think: ferry, private boat, water taxi, etc.). However, once you get to Crab Island, it is well worth the effort. The popular vacation spot greets you with clear water, white sand beaches, and some of the most friendly people.
It might be needless to say, but if you’re going to Crab Island, odds are that you enjoy the beach and love to catch some rays as well as take a dip into the ocean. If you’re a woman, then you know the struggle that comes with finding a good-fitting swimsuit with a fun pattern and flattering silhouette when you’re basking in the sun. I am definitely all for women wearing what they feel comfortable in, especially when it comes to swimwear. Each woman’s comfort level for what they prefer to wear on the beach is different, and that is perfectly okay and what makes each one of us unique. As Crab Island tends to be a more conservative destination with many families – including young moms, teenagers, and grandparents – I have rounded up my favorite 3 modest swimsuits for women that give you the freedom to chase a toddler, dive into the ocean, or chill next to your grandpa. Wear any of these swimsuits and you’ll fit right in while simultaneously be sure to receive compliments on your special swimsuit.
1. Snow on the beach tankini
This stunning white tankini is everything! I love the feminine ruffle of the peplum tankini top, which is perfect for keeping your tummy covered. I’m also such a sucker for the gold details on the adjustable straps, which is perfect because you can customize them exactly to your preferred length. This modest swimsuit is great because in addition to the adorable swimsuit top, it has full-coverage swimsuit bottoms, too! It has textured, ribbed fabric which is great because it adds a lot of dimension to the solid neutral color. I think this modest swimsuit would pair so well with a chambray button-up dress or a nautical striped cover-up. Throw on a pair of platform slides and you’re all set to take some pictures on the incredible shore of Crab Island!
2. Beach picnic one-piece swimsuit
This preppy one piece swimsuit perfectly encapsulates summer with its Nantucket blue color and white gingham pattern. The keyhole detail in the chest is just too cute and adds a little spiciness to the one piece swimsuit. More than anything, the cut of this swimsuit is exactly what you need – full-coverage bottoms in the lower half of the one piece swimsuit and the most flattering scoop neck in the chest. I love that the straps are super stretchy and ready to conform to your exact length. The texture of this fabric is so smooth and buttery soft – seriously I know so many influencers are saying that phrase these days, but it really does feel like that and you won’t want to take it off. One piece swimsuits can be hard because they can sometimes be unflattering in the gut area, but thankfully this one snatches you in at the waist and has super compressive fabric to hold you in. I love the easiness that comes with a modest swimsuit because it gives you so much freedom to do whatever it is that you want to do without having to worry about popping out. I would pair this with anything white! White silk drawstring pants would look amazing, and with a feminine white linen blouse – so chic! Also, tell me this swimsuit wouldn’t photograph so well on Crab Island with the blue sea in the background?!
3. Midnight dip swimsuit
What’s a vacation without your trusty LBS (little black swimsuit, that is)?! It doesn’t get more classy than this modest black one piece swimsuit – a timeless cut, neutral color, stunning gold details on the adjustable straps, and textured fabric to top it all off! Just when you think you can’t have it all, this guy comes along. I really do love this swimsuit, though. It is such a nice basic to have in your drawer since it’s one of those that you can whip out and wear in any setting. Of course the full coverage of this swimsuit would go so well with the style of Crab Island, but really, this number can be worn anywhere.

My heart definitely belongs in sunshine and at the beach, so I know I will have to head there in the near future.
