A life of diverse experiences & breaking barriers

Amy's journey is anything but conventional. With an MBA and a pilot's license, she has navigated through various fields, from molecular biology to the skies. "I wanted to live a man's life in a woman's body," she shares, reflecting on her determination to break through barriers that society often places on women. Her passion for flying, inherited from her grandfather, led her to pursue aviation as a career, despite the challenges and costs associated with it.

Living in Manhattan, Amy embraces her role as the "cliché aunt" while pursuing her dreams. "I think next lifetime I'll join the sorority of mothers," she jokes, highlighting her commitment to living life on her own terms.

Advocacy and empowerment

Amy's advocacy work is deeply personal. As a survivor of sex work and trafficking, she understands the complexities and challenges faced by individuals in the industry. "I want to live because they're usually young and poor," she states, emphasizing her desire to create a better environment for those who find themselves in vulnerable positions.

Her approach to advocacy is nuanced; she recognizes that the sex work industry is not a monolith. "There are many women who don't want to be told that the state owns their body," she explains. By advocating for decriminalization and better working conditions, Amy aims to empower individuals to make choices that are right for them, free from coercion and stigma.

Challenging societal norms

Amy's perspective on sex work challenges the prevailing narratives that often demonize those involved in the industry. She argues that the issues of coercion and consent are paramount, and that the focus should be on improving conditions rather than pushing the industry underground. "If you tell people they're trash, they give up," she asserts, advocating for a more compassionate and understanding approach to those who have faced adversity.

Her work extends beyond advocacy; she actively engages with communities to help individuals reintegrate into society after facing legal challenges related to sex work. By collaborating with local businesses and educational institutions, Amy has helped create pathways for former sex workers to find stable employment and rebuild their lives.

A vision for the future

As she looks ahead, Amy remains committed to her passions. Currently working on adding her rotorcraft rating, she continues to model and inspire others through her social media presence. "Dream bigger," she encourages, reminding us all that our aspirations should know no bounds.

Amy Taylor's story is one of courage, resilience, and unwavering determination. By breaking down barriers and advocating for change, she not only empowers herself but also paves the way for others to follow. In a world that often seeks to define us, Amy reminds us that we have the power to define our own paths.
